Technical Guidelines For Sepak Takraw
1. The Game shall be managed in accordance with the rule of the International Sepak Takraw Federation
(ISTAF) currently enforced.
2. The Game will start the day after the opening period of the intramurals, the call time would be 8:00
o’clock in the morning and will start at 9:00 am. The game will be played via Regu Event and double
elimination.
3. To facilitate all players’ playing time, if there are 12 players one team, they will be divided into a Regu
which will complete with other teams and each other such time they reach the finals.
4. Teams will be given a five 5 minutes extension before the specific time given. Failure to arrive at the
given time will be forfeited.
5. Team players who are not listed in the gallery are not allowed to play the game.
6. A coin toss will decide which Teams will start service, while the other Teams can pick the side of the
court they wish to start on.
7. A player should only wear sports attire or a plain shirt, short pants, and sports shoes. For safety
purposes, no one is allowed to wear body accessories inside the court.
8. The first team that scores 15 points wins the set. The set can only be won by the Team with a two-point
lead, and the maximum points a set typically reaches is 17 points. The umpire will call for the set to
extend to 17 points when there is a tie at 15-15. The game is played in two sets with a two-minute break
in between. The Regu that wins two sets wins the match.
9. If both Regus win a set each, the match is extended to a tie-break set. This third set is played to 15
points and will be extended to 17 points if there is another tie at 15-15. Before the tie-break set, the Regus
will toss a coin to decide who starts the service. When one Regu scores eight points, service will be
switched.
10. A player that verbally disrespects the officiating officials and their opponent will be subject to
disqualification depending on the decision of the umpire and committee.
11. Any game protest from the opponent will be entertained after the end of the game.
