Time: 1 hour MM: 25

General Instructions:
1. This Model Question Paper has 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
2. Section A has 4 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 3 questions carrying 2 marks each.
4. Section C has 2 questions carrying 3 marks each.
5. Section D has 1 question carrying 5 marks.
6. Section E has 1 case - study based integrated question carrying 4 marks.
7. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice has been given in sections B, C, D & E.

SECTION A
This section comprises multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each.
1. Find the perimeter of ΔABC, if perimeter of ΔPQR is 36cm and A, B and C are midpoints. (1)
(a) 36cm (b) 9cm (c) 18cm (d) 27cm
2. It is given that ∆ ABC ≅ ∆ FDE and AB = 5 cm, ∠B = 40° and ∠A = 80°. Then which of (1)
the following is true?

(a) DF = 5 cm, ∠F = 60°

(b) DF = 5 cm, ∠E = 60°

(c) DE = 5 cm, ∠E = 60°

(d) DE = 5 cm, ∠D = 40°

3. (1)

Question 4 is Assertion and Reason based question carrying 1 mark. Two statements are
given, one labelled Assertion (A) and the other Reason (R). Select the correct answer
from the codes (a), (b), (c), and (d) as given below.

(a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation for A.
(b) Both A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation for A.
(c) A is true but R is false.
(d) A is false but R is true.

4. Assertion (A): In ∆ABC, BC = AB and ∠B = 80°. Then, ∠A = 50° (1)

Reason (R): In a triangle, angles opposite to two equal sides are equal.

SECTION B
This section comprises very short answer type questions (VSA) of 2 marks each.

5. It is given that BDEF and FDCE are parallelograms. Is BD = CD? Why or why not? (2)

OR
Two lines AB and CD intersect each other at the point O such that BC || DA and BC = DA.
Show that O is the midpoint of both the line-segments AB and CD.

6. In ∆ABC, AB = 5 cm, BC = 8 cm and CA = 7 cm. If D, E and F are respectively the (2)

mid-points of AB , BC and CA, determine the perimeter of ΔDEF.
7. Find the cost of laying grass in a triangular field of sides 50 m, 65 m and 65 m at the (2)
rate of Rs 7 per square meter.

SECTION C

This section comprises short answer type questions (SA) of 3 marks each.

8. The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 32 cm. The ratio of the equal side to its base is (3)
3 : 2. Find the area of the triangle.

9. ABCD is a parallelogram and AP and CQ are perpendiculars from vertices A and C on (3)
diagonal BD (see fig.). Show that :
(i) ΔAPB ≅ ΔCQD
(ii) AP = CQ

OR
In the given figure, AD is bisector of ∠BAC and ∠CPD = ∠BPD.
Prove that ΔCAP ≌ ΔBAP.

SECTION D
This section comprises long answer type question (LA) of 5 marks.

people. Fairs and festivals are the custodians of our great cultural heritage. The pandal is to be
decorated by using triangular flags around the field. Each flag has dimensions 25 cm, 25 cm
and 22 cm.

(i) What is the semi-perimeter of the flag for the above mentioned dimensions? (1)
(ii) What is the area of the flag? (1)

(iii) Find the area of cloth required for making 300 such flags in square meter. (2)
OR
(iv) If the rate of the cloth is ₹ 200 per sq.m, find the total cost of 300 flags.
