Q1. Introduction: Who was Helen Keller?

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in Alabama, USA. She became
deaf and blind at two years of age due to some illness. Captain Arthur
Keller and Kate Adams Keller were her parents.

Helen lived in Tuscumbia, Alabama. She later worked as a famous author,


speaker, and advocate for a better life for the disabled in the world.

Q2. Education: Where did Helen Keller study?

 Helen first went to the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, where
she learned to communicate.

 She later attended the Wright-Humason School for the Deaf in New
York to improve her speech.

 She also studied at The Cambridge School for Young Ladies to


prepare for college.

 Helen graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904, becoming the first


deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.

 Helen was the first deaf-blind person to graduate from college, and

 When Helen was about 7 years old, Annie Sullivan took her to the
water pump and spelled "W-A-T-E-R" into her hand as water flowed
over it.

 That moment was the breakthrough when Helen realized that the
letters spelled into her hand represented the word "water." This
helped her understand that everything had a name.
