• The "P" final grade indicates that the quarter grades meet the minimum criteria to pass the course and the .50 credit is awarded.
If a student's EOC is invalidated by the state, the exam and final grade will be replaced with an "NG" and the course credit will be
removed.
• The "NG" final grade indicates that the quarter grades do not meet the minimum criteria to pass the course; passing the course
is contingent upon the EOC results.
• The "F" final grade combined with an "E" exam grade indicates that the quarter grades do not meet the minimum criteria to pass
the course. The student will need to retake the course to meet the promotion requirements and/or to earn credit.
If a student enrolled in an EOC course did not take the required exam, the report card will reflect a "NG" exam and semester grade.
Final grades and transcripts will be calculated and updated in when assessment results are received.
Students earning a "NG" exam grade or a "NG" or "F" semester grade are strongly encouraged to attend the
Summer Learning Program (SLP). Contact your child's school for more information.
Middle School Promotion Requirements
Middle school students must pass language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies to meet annual promotion requirements.
To be promoted to high school, middle school students must successfully complete three middle school or higher-level courses in language
arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, including one civics education course; and complete a personalized academic and career plan.
The grade enhancement policy for high school credit courses taken prior to ninth grade, allows students to replace a grade of C or
below with a grade of C or higher, earned subsequently in the same or comparable course. The replaced grade is excluded in the
cumulative, unweighted state GPA required for graduation, but is included in the cumulative, weighted district GPA used to
determine rank in class.
The Summer Learning Program provides additional opportunities for students to meet promotion requirements.
Contact your child's school for program details.
The Student Progression Plan available on the district's website provides additional information related to academic requirements.
