Week 1: Foundations of Project Management

Lessons Learned:
 Overview of Project Management: Learned the basics of project management, including
definitions, principles, and the roles and responsibilities of a project manager.
 Stakeholder Importance: Understood how to identify stakeholders and why managing their
expectations is crucial for project success.
 Project Life Cycle: Gained a clear understanding of the project life cycle (initiation,
planning, execution, closure) and its stages.
 Key Competencies: Identified key skills necessary for project managers, such as leadership,
communication, risk management, and problem-solving.

Week 2: Project Initiation – Starting a Successful Project

Lessons Learned:
 Defining Clear Project Objectives: Mastered the art of creating specific, measurable
objectives that align with both organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
 Project Charter Creation: Learned to develop a comprehensive project charter that outlines
scope, key milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder roles.
 Risk Identification: Understood the importance of early risk identification and mitigation
strategies during project initiation.
 Engaging Stakeholders: Improved skills in identifying and engaging stakeholders to ensure
alignment and buy-in from the very start of the project.

Week 3: Project Planning – Part 1

Lessons Learned:
 Developing a Detailed Project Plan: Started building a detailed project plan, learning how
to break down work into tasks (using WBS) and set timelines for deliverables.
 Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Gained insight into budgeting processes, resource
management, and allocating team members efficiently.
 SMART Goals: Understood the importance of creating SMART (Specific, Measurable,
Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) objectives for effective project planning.
 Risk Management Framework: Identified potential risks and started developing a risk
management framework that includes preventive measures.
Week 4: Project Planning – Part 2

Lessons Learned:
 Scheduling and Gantt Charts: Gained hands-on experience creating project schedules
using tools like Gantt charts to visualize project timelines.
 Resource Management: Improved skills in allocating resources (human, financial, and
physical) efficiently and ensuring they align with project requirements.
 Communication Plan: Developed a comprehensive communication plan to ensure that
information is effectively shared among stakeholders and team members.
 Finalizing the Plan: Finalized the project plan, including defining roles, responsibilities, key
milestones, and deliverables, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.

Week 5: Project Execution – Part 1

 Executing the Project Plan: Began project execution by implementing the tasks outlined in
the plan, coordinating resources, and managing teams effectively.
 Monitoring Progress: Learned how to monitor project progress using KPIs and milestones
to ensure that the project stays on track with timelines and budget.

resolving any conflicts or issues that arise during execution.

meet the required standards and specifications.

Week 6: Project Execution – Part 2

 Managing Change Requests: Learned how to handle change requests, ensuring that changes
are documented, evaluated, and integrated without disrupting project flow.
 Tracking and Reporting: Improved skills in tracking project performance and generating
reports for stakeholders, providing updates on timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation.
 Issue Resolution: Addressed unforeseen issues and roadblocks, learning how to troubleshoot
problems while keeping the project moving forward.

Week 7: Agile Project Management

cycles, backlog prioritization, and conducting sprint reviews.

Week 8: Capstone – Applying Project Management in the

management principles to a real-world or simulated project, consolidating knowledge from
the previous weeks.
 Leadership in Action: Tested leadership skills in a practical setting, learning how to manage
a team, make decisions, and guide the project toward successful completion.
 Managing Real-World Constraints: Faced real-world challenges, such as tight budgets,
shifting priorities, and stakeholder management, while applying lessons learned from risk
management and problem-solving.
