Installation guide

In this guide you will learn how to enable Devorian Minecraft resource pack in your game.
For that you will need Optifine, which will enable you to install shaders. And then you will
need any shader that allows parallax occlusion and PBR shading to have all those fancy
things like 3D effect, reflections, glow etc. which default minecraft shader does not allow.

We suggest to use our pack with Complementary Shaders as they provide great balance
between visuals and performance. We will use it as an example in this guide. But you can
use Devorian Minecraft with any other shader pack or even with default shader.

Note: we are using Kappa Shader for our videos and screenshots. However this shader is
not optimized for low-end computers.

OptiFine installation
At first, you have to go to OptiFine website on this link to download Optifine. OptiFine is a
Minecraft optimization mod, that allows Minecraft to run faster and look better with full
support for HD textures and many configuration options. Search for the same version as the
version of Minecraft you are using and Click on “Download”.

This will redirect you to this site with some advertisement. Don’t worry, just wait a few
seconds and then click on “Skip” button.
This will redirect you back to OptiFine website, where you will be able to download Optifine.
Or another advertisement may appear. If so, just go one step back and repeat it again.

Once you have downloaded OptiFine, go to your downloads folder and run OptiFine Installer.
This window will show up. If you haven’t changed your Minecraft folder location during
Minecraft installation, you can choose “Install”. If not, you have to find your .minecraft
location folder.

Once you have Optifine installed, run your Minecraft launcher and choose OptiFine profile in
the bottom left corner.
Complementary Shaders installation
Note: installing Complementary Shaders is optional. Feel free to use any other Minecraft
shader pack. However we do not guarantee that everything from our resource pack will work
perfectly. You can download the Complementary Shaders for free on this link.

Once you downloaded the shader pack, open your Minecraft folder and drop the zip file into
folder called “shaderpacks” in your Minecraft folder.
Note: Do not unzip the file!
Now run your game and go to Options > Video settings > Shaders and select
Complementary Shaders shader pack.

If you want to have POM (3D) effect on your blocks, go to shader Options > Materials and
set up “RP support” to “labPBR”.
Then open “Normalmap Related Settings” and turn on “Normal Mapping, Parallax Occlusion
Mapping and Self Shadowing”. Then feel free to tweak other parameters to your liking.

Enabling Devorian Steampunk


Open your Minecraft folder and put DevorianSteampunk_X.zip file to “resourcepacks” folder.
Then run your game and go to Options > Resource Packs.
Hover your cursor over DevorianSteampunk_X.zip and click on the icon, so the pack will
move into the right column.

Confirm by clicking on “Done” button and the pack will load. This may take a while
depending on your resource pack resolution and your hardware.

Congratulations, now you can enjoy playing Minecraft


using Devorian Steampunk resource pack.

Note: You can play with other shader settings or even try different shader packs, but it is not
part of this guide.
