WEEKLY USA GRAIN AND PROTEIN REPORT -- JULY 20, 2024

It seemed like a quieter week this week --- corn prices were down by about USD 4 m/t but
soybeans had a down weak too with prices dropping by about USD 10 m/t with soymeal
down by only USD 5 or 6 m/t. Wheat prices were down a little depending on the type.

While US wheat prices did drop on the week, they had a strong Friday as the long term
weather forecast looks hot a dry for the spring wheat areas. Winter wheat is more affected
by international event as the winter wheat season is over in the US.

USA corn prices tried to move higher on the hot/dry weather reports but didn’t have too
much luck as there is also widespread rainfall expected in the Corn Belt and the
temperatures look to be about normal. The USDA export sales report shows good volume of
US corn going to both Spain and Portugal as US corn is once again competitive in export
markets that have depended on Brazil and Ukraine.

Like corn, US soybeans are also very competitive in export markets and as US prices seem
determined to slide lower then US soybeans should remain very competitive. On the
weather side of things --- US weather for soybeans for the next while remains good with
nothing noted that should get farmers worried.

Estimated Bulk Grain Freight in USD per m/t, basis heavy grains.

SECTION 2 --- FISHMEAL COMMENTS AND PRICES: PERUVIAN “INDICATION” FISHMEAL PRICES:

Southern Peru fishing is now up to 27,800 m/t (6,200 m/t fishmeal) with just over 223,000 m/t left
on the quota to December 31.

Not much going on in the fishmeal market in Peru with so little available for sale. Estimates for
presales for the next fishing season remain at about 560,000 m/t. Prices are mainly steady with no
new business being done. The Super Prime premium is reported to have dropped a little but with
nothing to sell this really means nothing.

According to scientific reports there is very little chance of a serious El Nino or La Nina event in 2024.
However, there could be a weak La Nina near the end o f the year into 2025. No serious effect on the
biomass or fishing is anticipated.

Peru will be closed on July 28 and 29 for the Independence Day holidays. Peru got its independence
from Spain in 1821.
