Dear Madam/Sir,

We are very glad you are interested in working with our language school – US BOSTON,
ADANA. You can find all details and instructions below.

We would like you to prepare a lesson and write a Lesson Plan according to the information
and the students’ needs given below. Please, prepare a Face-to-Face lesson as most of our
classes are being held Face-to-Face at the moment.

Student’s profile:

Level: Primary school students, A2 level (According to CEFR)

Age: 8-11 years old

Needs analysis: Students enjoy learning English but unfortunately, they do not get many
opportunities to speak English at home and at their schools. They want to use English every
day at school. The lesson should be prepared by using communicative approach and students
also need to improve their grammar, as well as their vocabulary.

Topic: My Week (from Poptropica English Islands 4, Pearson. Unit 4) (Documents are
attached below)

Goals: Learning about daily language and vocabulary. Talking about habits. Using Simple
Present Tense and adverbs of frequency effectively for communication.

Remember:

• It is your first lesson with the students (but the main point of the lesson is
you teaching and the students learning)
• Materials and structure of the lesson are up to you, but you must keep in mind the
information in the students’ profile above
• Please include teaching of grammar point in your Lesson Plan
• You should plan a 40-minute lesson. (Demo will be limited to 20 minutes)

Important:

Teaching demonstration is relatively short, 20 minutes in length, you have limited time to show
your hiring committee how well you are able to articulate your thoughts and break-down the
concept you are teaching. You’ll also be assessed on your ability to peak students’ interest and
engage them through your delivery, and non-verbal communication.

The following tips will help you better prepare for your teaching demonstration:

• Content Mastery: Familiarize yourself with your topic.

• Content Outline: Create a structure for your presentation that covers the title, what will
be covered, and the purpose of knowing the material.
• Visual Aids: Make sure your presentation is concise, well designed, and backed-up in
multiple formats including hard copy.

• Teaching Rehearsal: Your teaching demonstration will be assessed on a number of

things including:

o communication skills
o presentation skills
o ability to engage and generate interest
o knowledge of the subject matter
o ability to teach within the allotted time
o ability to clearly and effectively answer questions

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

US BOSTON, ADANA
