Minutes of Meeting

II. Call of Order


The meeting was called to order at 5: 00 P.M by the reporter Miss Maribelle Alicaya.

III. Approval of the Minutes of Meeting


The minutes of the meeting were held on the 6th day of November at the IT
Laboratory, West Visayas State University (HCC).

IV. Business Arising from the Previous Minutes of the Meeting


There were almost 80% of students who agreed and were present at this meeting. The
following are the things being agreed upon at the stated meeting:
 Contribution for the Paskwa sa West: 50 pesos per student.
 The deadline for the contribution will be the 13th day of November.
 Contributions will be collected by every classroom treasurer and given to Miss
Anerlyn Mombay, the overall treasurer.

V. New Business (Agenda)


1. The reporter presented the goals and objectives of the lesson. The reporter talked
about how the alignment of the objectives and the assessment will affect the
learning process.
2. Miss Alicaya defined the word assessment and provided definitions of the word
according to the different perspectives of people such as Erwin (1999), Palomba
and Banta (2004), Allen (2004), and Hube and Fred.
3. Miss Alicaya also opened up about the purpose of assessment in reading. She
asked about the meaning of assessment when it comes to the reading. Her reports
ended at 6:15 p.m.
4. The second reporter started at 6:15, Miss Florentino. She provided the different
types of reading assessment and their definitions, which are formative,
summative, diagnostic, norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, and interim.
5. One of the attendees, Miss Layan, reads the definition of informal reading
assessment.
6. The reporter also provided the different ideas from the different people about the
informal reading assessment, and she asked about the attendees’ understanding of
the given insights of the different people.
7. Miss April Florentino also presented about phonological awareness and the
different reading assessment activities that can help reinforce phonemic
awareness.
8. The reporter requested that Miss Dulay read and explain one of the activities that
can help reinforce phonemic awareness.
9. Miss Florentino’s report ended at 6:26. The next reporter, Miss Olbina, started her
report at 6:28 about reading assessment activities that can help reinforce students’
reading comprehension skills.
10. Miss Olbina provided five activities, such as caricature analysis, interpreting
graphs, problem-solving rote, symbol translation, and new item analysis.
11. She also talked about fluency and the different activities in order to help reinforce
students’ fluency skills.
12. There are no other concerns or matters to be discussed.

VI. Adjournment
The meeting ended at 6:57 P.M
