are arranged in a dictionary fashion (alphabetical order)?

Part-B Answer all question (4*4=16)

B1 Mr. Abhay wants to buy a Royal Enfield Bullet bike for which the on road price 4
is Rs. 2 Lakhs. He wants to purchase the bike on loan. The owner said that he
needs to pay at least 20% of the cost of the bike and the rest can be taken as
loan from a partner bank.
He takes the loan with an annual rate of interest 12% for vehicle loan.
Suppose he wants to pay back the loan in 5 years, what will be his monthly
installment?
How will your answer change if he wants to pay back the loan in 10 years. ?
(Assumption: Banks calculate monthly interest)
B2 Explain what do you understand by local maxima, local minima, global 4
maxima and global minima.
Mention the mathematical conditions for finding the same.
If possible, give some examples to explain the same.

B3 Mr. Rajasekhar has ten trucks which he uses for his transportation business. 4
His son Pratik is now young and he also wants to open his separate business of
transportation. How many different possible ways are there in which he can
distribute the truck between him and his son such that either will have at least
one truck each for business.

After Supreme courts latest decision on daughters’ inheritance bill, his two
daughters Sita and Rita also wants some truck to start their own business
separately. However, they are Ok even if they don’t get any trucks since they
have been married and doing well in their life. In how many different ways can
Mr. Rajasekhar distribute the trucks now? (He and his son needs to have at least
one truck each in this case also).

B4 Find the Integration value of the function mentioned below. 4

3𝑥𝑥 3 + 𝑥𝑥 + 1
∫ 𝑑𝑑𝑑𝑑
𝑥𝑥 2 + 1

Part-C Answer All the Questions, Case Study (2*8=16)

C1 Sneha wants to build a shop with an initial investment of 10 Lakhs. This shop 8
can be rented to a shopkeeper with a monthly rent of Rs 10,000. Assume that
the shop’s life is only 10 years after which the shop needs to be demolished and
constructed again. Discount rate is 12% per annum.

a) Find the Net Present Value of all the future cash flows (rent received by
Sneha)
b) Find whether Sneha invest in constructing the shop. Justify.
c) If your answer to part (b) is no, what is the minimum rent that she should
receive for going forward with the investment?
d) If your answer to part (b) is no and the shopkeeper doesn’t want to pay
more than 10k rent but rather he can pay a onetime sum in the
beginning, what is the sum he needs to pay for the investment to be
feasible by Sneha.

(Assume that the shop can get constructed without any delay.
The onetime sum to be paid in the beginning will be paid at the 0th month and
it won’t be returned back to the shopkeeper)
C2 Raju has opened a restaurant of selling Veg Thalis in Jammu. He can sell the 8
thalis at Rs 40 each.
The Total cost function for preparing and delivering the thalis is not linear due
to things like, delivery boys, chefs etc. but a polynomial function as mentioned
below.

𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇𝑇 𝐶𝐶 = 10𝑥𝑥 3 − 10𝑥𝑥 2 − 10𝑥𝑥 + 100

a) Assuming the total demand of the Thalis in Jammu is limited to 100

only, what is the optimum number of thalis he should sell?
b) What is the worst-case scenario for him?

Now suppose the cost function is given in a different manner. Instead of giving
the value of total cost, the function mentions the cost of producing each
additional thali as mentioned below.

𝑑𝑑𝑑𝑑
= 𝑥𝑥 + 3
𝑑𝑑𝑑𝑑

c) What will be the total cost incurred on selling 100 thalis in this case?
d) Also calculate the total profit/loss in this case.
(Hint: Use the concept of Area under curve to move ahead for c and d)
