Removing the ribbon cables

Pay special attention to the X-Y axis ribbon cable .

Disengage the X/Y carriage from the X axis and disengage as well the Y axis Profile.
Remove the X-Y and the X-Z ribbon cables.

Exchanging X-Y position sensors

Exchange the X axis position

sensor PCB (Observe the
orientation of the cable connector).

Press the PCB away from the

metallic X/Y-carriage during
tightening the two screws..

The reason for this pre-caution is to give

enough space for the sensor component and
the blind shutter built-in the X-Profile.

Exchanging X-Y position sensors

Exchange the y axis position sensor

PCB (Observe the orientation of the
cable connector).

Ensure the contact of the

Grounding Conductor with the PCB
and the carriage.

Note: Leave the grounding point at the motor

untouched.

Exchanging X-Y position sensors

Mount the Y-Axis Position Sensor

PCB. Press the board from the side
against the X/Y-Carriage.

The reason for this pre-caution is to

avoid a contact from the senor
component against the Toothed
Rack built-in the Y-Axis Profile.
Check this point carefully when the
Y-Profile is engaged.

Note: Leave the grounding point at the motor

untouched.

Installing the ribbon cables

Connect the X-Y and X-Z ribbon cables to the carriage.

Install the Polymer Guiding Shield for the Y-Axis as shown in the picture on the right
side.

Assembling X-Y Axis

Engage the X/Y-Carriage into the profile of the

X-Axis.

Engage the Y-Axis profile with the rollers

from the X/Y-Carriage.

Form a natural bow with the Ribbon Cables

including the FlexBand.

Insert the clip in the cut-out - press

firm to hold the cables in position.

Assembling X-Y Axis

Move the Y/Z Assembly to the left and right side and check from side of the X-
Axis if the Ribbon Cables are centered and fully lined up with each other and the
Flexband.

Limitation of Repair

When it comes down to the rollers there is a strict limitation. Do NOT touch the
fixation.
The rollers are matched with the side distance against the Guide Rods in the X-Y-
Assembly.
The Unit can take damage within a few months if the alignment is too hard.
The alignment can only be done in the factory using a dedicated setting gauge.

Limitation of Repair

Toothed Rack should not moved in position neither for the X-Axis nor for the Y-Axis
Assembly.
The play of the Pinions from the X- and Y- Motors is matched to the Toothed Rack.
Uncontrolled changes can lead to destruction of the Assembly.
In any case where an adjustment seems necessary is it advisable to contact CTC
Analytics.

A single ribbon cable or a position sensor PCB are individually available.
