The bar chart illustrates the proportion of men and women doing housework and the average

time they spend on housework. In general, while the number of women who do housework
and the amount of time they spend is more than men in three kinds of tasks such as
cooking, cleaning and pet care, the opposite is true for house repairs.

As can be seen, cooking is the task which accounted for the largest number of males and
females among four tasks, at 60% and over 80%, respectively. Beside that, the average time
a day women spend on cooking is over 80 minutes and that figure for men is 60 minutes.
About 60% of women and 40% of men choose to do cleaning and they spend less time on
cleaning than cooking.

While the percentage of men who take care of pets is the same as that of women, more men
tend to repair their house than women. The number of men who repair their houses is twice
more than that of women; whereas the average time females spend on repairing a day is
nearly three times less than that of men. On the contrary, there is a similarity between the
proportion of these two sexes and the average time they spend on pet care.
