deposit of kshs.2,000 followed by 8 equal monthly instalments. Given that the dealer

11. The length and width of a rectangle are given as 4.5 cm and 2.5 cm respectively.

Given that AX = 5cm, XB = 4cm and CX = 2cm find the length of the chord CD. (2mks)

13. In a mathematics contest, there are 30 questions to be answered. Every question correctly
answered scores 3 points; a question wrongly answered scores 1 point whereas, a
question not answered scores -1 point.
i) What is the maximum point of the contest (1mk)

attempted. How many points did she get? (2mks)

17. A dealer mixes three types of paints A, B and C in the ratio A:B = 3:5 and B:C = 1:3. The
cost of each type of paint A, B and C are ksh.92, kshs.115 and kshs.138 respectively. The
mixture is to contain 60 litres of paint C.

a) Find the ratio A : B : C ( 2mks)

b) Find the number of litres of paint B in the mixture (2mks)

c) Find the cost per litre of the mixture (3mks)

18. The income tax rates of a certain year were as shown in the table below

month’s deposit is 10% more than the deposit of the previous month. The deposit for the
