1. AGE WORD PROBLEM

Nekko is now 25 years old, and Kim is 5 years old. In how many years will nekko be
twice as old as Kim?

Sol’n:

Nekko Kim
Present 25 5
xt 25+t 5+t

25 + t = 2 (5 + t)
25 + t = 10 + 2t
25 - 10 = 2t - t

15 = t

Checking:

25 + 15 = 40 5 + 15 = 20

MIXTURE PROBLEM

50L of a 20% alcohol solution is mixed with 150L of 45% alcohol solution. What is
the concentration of a mixture?

Sol’n:

C1V1+ C2V2 = C3V3 V3 = V1 + V2 = V3


V3 = 50L + 150L = 200L
(20%)(50L) + (45%)(150L) = C3 200L

1000 + 6750 = 200L C3

7750 = 200 C3
200 200
38.75% = C3

DISTANCE, RATE, AND TIME PROBLEM

Annete and Hakima are driving towards each other at a rate of 50mph and 60mph
respectively. If they are currently 460 miles apart, how many hours will it take for
them to pass each other?

Sol’n

dA + dH = 460

50 + 60 = 460

110 = 460
10 10

11 = 46
11 11

T= 4 hours and 18 minutes

Checking:
 50mph x 4.18 hours = 209 miles
 60mph x 4.18 hours = 250.8 miles
 Total distance = 459.8

Answer: My constructed problem is aligned to the topics cause while watching a
video tutorial I formulate a problem, and by double checking if my answer is
correct.
3. What do you think of the level difficulty you encountered upon constructing
the problem?
Answer: For me it sis a little difficult, but when you understand the the problem
or topic, you can answer it easily.
4. How did you arrive at your answer?
Answer: with the help of video tutorial I answer it easily.
5. Enumerate the steps you follow upon answering the constructed problems.
Answer: first I understand the topic before answering the problem
Second answer the problem with the help of video tutorial.
