- **Usage**: Defines the components needed to produce a specific material. It's used in production planning and material requirement planning (MRP). - **Application**: Manufacturing industries to create final products from raw materials.
2. **Equipment BOM (E-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Lists the spare parts and components for equipment. It's used in plant maintenance. - **Application**: Maintenance activities, ensuring all necessary parts are available for equipment repair or servicing.
3. **Sales Order BOM (S-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Created for a specific sales order, it reflects the customer's specific requirements. - **Application**: Customizable products where each sales order may have different configurations.
4. **Document Structure BOM (D-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Links documents to a material or product, helping manage documentation related to the product lifecycle. - **Application**: Engineering and R&D departments for design and documentation control.
5. **WBS BOM (WBS-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Used within the context of project systems to manage materials related to a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) element. - **Application**: Large projects where materials need to be planned and controlled per project tasks. 6. **Functional Location BOM (F-BOM)**: - **Usage**: Specifies the components needed for a functional location in a plant, often used in plant maintenance. - **Application**: Ensuring the correct components are available for maintaining specific functional areas within a plant.
7. **Variant BOM (V-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Used for products with variants, where a base product has multiple variations. - **Application**: Automotive and electronics industries where products have many customizable options.
8. **Production BOM (P-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Details the components required to manufacture a product. It's used in discrete manufacturing. - **Application**: Industrial manufacturing processes to manage and control production materials.
9. **Service BOM (S-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Lists components required for performing a service task. - **Application**: Service industries for managing materials and parts needed for service orders.
10. **Costing BOM (C-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Used in product costing to calculate the cost of goods manufactured. - **Application**: Financial departments to determine the cost structure of products.
11. **Engineering BOM (E-BOM)**:
- **Usage**: Created during the design phase and used by engineering departments to plan product structures. - **Application**: Engineering and product development.
