concerns and keep the local population from contracting diseases such as cholera, leptospirosis,
dengue, diarrhea, and many more.

Making sure everything is clean is really important for everyone's health and the
community's overall well-being. Living in a place that's not clean can lead to getting sick, like
from diseases such as dengue. Recognizing this, our group is working on a thorough clean-up
effort because we care about the well-being of our community.
The main goal of our effort is to be a helpful tool in keeping certain natural areas clean. We
believe this will make a positive impact by reducing pollution in our environment, making things
better for the people who live nearby. Beyond just making things look nice, we're aiming to
create a healthier living environment for everyone in the community. Our clean-up drive isn't
only about immediate health concerns; it's also about making the air and water around us cleaner.
At the same time, we want to encourage a sense of responsibility and pride among the people
who live here. Additionally, having a clean and organized area looks good and makes a positive
impression. It helps create a sense of pride and well-being among everyone who sees it.
In summary, our clean-up drive is not just a simple task. It's a way for us to contribute to the
well-being of our community by addressing health risks, improving the environment, and
fostering a sense of pride through keeping things clean.

• To promote our community service program, initiate a Facebook post that each project
proponent will share on their timeline, with the goal of achieving at least 20 shares and
garnering 100 likes within the first week to effectively spread the message and influence
others.
• Set up at least 5 posters with the label 'BAWAL MAGTAPON NG BASURA DITO' near
this canal to prevent littering by people in the area.
The Clean Up Drive project seeks to deal with pollution in canals and highways by
coordinating community-led activities to clean and restore these areas. It involves organizing a
community effort to remove trash, debris, and other pollutants from the canals and along the
highways. This not only improves the appearance of the highways, but it also contributes to
traffic safety by lowering the possibility of accidents caused by debris. Furthermore, the project
raises environmental awareness by educating the public on the need of responsible trash
management and encouraging behavioral adjustments to prevent littering in the future.
In general, the Clean Up Drive project is critical in maintaining the cleanliness and
sustainability of both canals and highways, producing a cleaner environment for communities,
and teaching a sense of civic responsibility in participants.

To facilitate the execution of the project, the project proponent will engage in monitoring to
ensure its effectiveness. The project proponent has chosen a checklist as the monitoring tool to
determine the tasks that need to be accomplished. Additionally, all participants will be asked
about their experiences during the clean-up drive, specifically whether there has been any change
in their feelings upon witnessing improvements in the canal while undertaking the community
service. This information will be gathered for evaluation purposes to assess the impact of the
community service on the participants. Furthermore, for evaluation, the project proponent will
also prepare pictures and videos for documentation in a documentary format. These visual
materials will serve as evidence of the project's progress and outcomes.

3. Post-Project Assessment:
The project's objective is to enhance environmental awareness among the residents of San
Pedro 2, Malvar. The primary focus is on maintaining cleanliness and safeguarding the area from
potential canal flooding, with an added emphasis on preventing residents from contracting health
issues like dengue. The anticipated result of this initiative is poised to bring positive outcomes
for the residents of San Pedro, Malvar
Future NSTP students can find inspiration in our project proposal for their own initiatives. A
clean-up drive transcends the mere act of cleaning canals or highways; it serves as a platform to
underscore the importance of community health. Through active participation, students not only
fulfill academic requirements but also gain practical knowledge applicable to their daily lives.
Engaging in community service, especially clean-up drives, cultivates essential life skills.
Students develop teamwork abilities by collaborating with diverse individuals, fostering
effective communication in the process. Beyond the immediate impact of a cleaner environment,
these activities create opportunities for students to establish meaningful connections, forging
friendships and professional relationships.

The challenges encountered during clean-up drives provide a practical arena for students to
enhance their problem-solving skills. Identifying critical needs within the community and
strategically focusing efforts on specific areas contribute to a more effective and sustainable
impact.
Participation in clean-up drives also contributes to the growth of empathy and ethical values.
As students actively involve themselves in cleaning activities, their empathy expands, driven by
a genuine desire to assist residents of San Pedro Malvar in preventing diseases like dengue. This
firsthand experience fosters a sense of social responsibility, enriching their ethical framework.
