Speaking TANC3
Compare the current entertainment with the past entertainment
Ngọc: Hi Vy! It’s great to see you! How have you been?
Vy: Hi! I’ve been good, thanks! How about you?
Ngọc: I’m doing well! I was thinking, what is the difference between the game in the
present and the past?
Vy: Well, I think games are very different now. In the past, kids played outside a lot, like
with simple toys or with friends in the park.
Ngọc: I agree. My parents told me they used to play games like hide-and-seek or outside.
But now, we have video games and mobile games.
Vy: Right! Now, many young people play on phones or computers. Games are online, so
you can play with people from other places.
Ngọc: It’s more high-tech now. But do you think it’s better?
Vy: Hmm, maybe. It’s fun to play online, but I think it’s good to go outside and play too,
like before.
Ngọc: I agree. Both are nice in different ways.
Vy: I think old games are simple but help us move and stay active. New games are
exciting and can connect us with friends online.
Ngọc: Yes, maybe it’s best to enjoy a mix of both.
Vy: Sounds great. That keeps things interesting.
Most Memorable Holiday
Ngọc: Hi Vy! It’s great to see you! How have you been?
Vy: Hi! I’ve been good, thanks! How about you?
Ngọc: I’m doing well! I was just thinking about our trip to Da Lat last year. That was
such a memorable holiday!
Vy: Definitely! I still can’t believe all the unexpected things that happened there.
Ngọc: I remember when we first arrived, and it started raining. We though we would be
stuck in our hotel all day!
Vy: I know! I was so worried we wouldn’t get to explore the city. But then you suggested
we check out that cafe nearby instead.
Ngọc: Yes! The coffee there was incredible, and the view of the rain was so calming.
Vy: That’s true and remember when we tried to visit the flower garden but got lost?
Ngọc: Yes, we ended up in that little market instead. We tasted some amazing street food
there.
Vy: Exactly! These strawberries were so delicious! I wouldn’t have wanted to miss that
experience.
Ngọc: Fortunately, when we finally found the flower garden, it was even more beautiful
than I expected. The colorful flowers made the trip worth it!
Vy: For sure! I loved taking photos there. Those unexpected moments really made the
holiday special.
Ngọc: I realize that sometimes the best memories come from things that don't go as
planned.
Vy: Exactly! We should plan another trip to Da Lat or somewhere new soon!
Ngọc: That’s sound great so let’s make a plan!

introduce you to the HelloTalk app, which is the app that I usually use to practice
speaking with native speakers. It's very helpful and good way to improve speaking skills.
Vy: That's a good idea and it's also nice to learn about it. I'll try that. Do you use any apps
for writing?
