Lesson Plan in TLE

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to:
a. Discuss the different social media and blogging platforms,
b. Explain the importance of the different social media and blogging platforms ; and
c. Apply the use of social media and blogging.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Online Platforms in ICT Content Development
Subtopic: The three types of World Wide Web
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Projector, Laptop
Reference: Grade 11 Empowerment Technology Module
Method: Lecture- Discussion
III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preliminary activities

 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Setting Standard
 Motivation “WHO I AM.”

B. Motivation
Direction:
1. Ask the students to share words that come to their minds when they hear the word
"social media" and "blogging".
2. Project on the screen the different social and blogging icons. Ask the students to
identify as much as they can what are the different icons projected on the screen. Ask the
students who have visited those websites or use the apps of those networking sites. Record
the number of users on each social and blogging networking sites.

C. Presenting of the lesson


Activity: Group Activity

Direction: Class will be divided into two groups. Group 1 represents “team social media”
while group 2 represents “team bloggers”. They are going to list and discuss by group the
different advantages of each platform. They are given 5 minutes to do this activity then
choose one representative who will discuss in front.
D. ABSTRACTION:
Online Platforms ICT Content Development
Online platform is a specially developed platform using Internet technology. Online
platforms have revolutionized access to any information. In our daily life we used Internet in
doing such things and in our learning purposes.
Examples of Online Platform
1. Presentation or Visualization - Communicates information clearly and
efficiently via statistical graphics, plots and information graphics.
a. Prezi - helping to reinvent the art of presentation
b. Zoho - an online project management application that helps you plan your work and
keep track of your progress.
c. SlideShare - to build quickly from concise, well presented
content from the experts.
2. Cloud Computing - The practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the
internet to store, manage and process data rather than a local server or a personal
computer.
a. Google Drive -keeps all work in one secure place with online
file storage.
b. Dropbox - keeps your files safe, synced and easy to share.
c. OneDrive -is a Microsoft cloud storage service that lets you store your personal files in
one place, share them with others, and get to them any device connected to the Internet.
3. Social Media - are computer-mediated tools that allow people, companies and other
organizations to create, share or exchange information, career interests, ideas and pictures
or videos in virtual communities and network.
a. Twitter - online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-
character messages called “tweets”.
b. Instagram – allows users to edit and upload photos and short videos through a mobile
application and can add caption to each of their posts and use hashtags.
c. Facebook – is a social networking site that makes it easy for you to connect and share
with family and friends online.

5. Mapping - a transformation taking the points of one space into the points of the same or
another space.
E. APPLICATION: GROUP ACTIVITY.
Direction: Class will be divided into two groups again. Group 1 represents “team social media”
while group 2 represents “team bloggers”. Same group members from the first activity. Each
group will create a 5 - 8 mins video/podcast on the social networking platform of there choice
regarding the two topics : social media platform and blogging platform. Divide the 2 topics on
each group.
They will be required to include the following during their video/podcast.
 What is the name of the platform?
 What is the main purpose of the platform?
 How does the platform works?
 Do you think this platform is good or bad (or both) for social media? Why?
 Any other interesting facts
