Introduction
❑ Traffic is a global problem. According to the Times of India, traffic
congestion means India loses around 1.5 lakh crores. Traditional
traffic management system often struggle to manage traffic jam,
reduce congestion and road safety.
❑ Our solution is to implement a smart traffic control system that
measures the density of vehicles in real-time and acts based on the
current traffic scenario on a particular lane.
❑ Currently many system exist like video analysis, inductive loops,
ultrasonic sensors, and IR sensors to measure the density of vehicles
in a particular lane but it has multiple drawback like high installation
cost.
❑ To solve this problem we propose an innovative, easy-to-implement,
and cost-effective solution using RFID tags that measure the density
of vehicles . By implementing RFID in vehicles, we can manage
traffic easily, prioritize emergency vehicles, and create smart toll
and parking systems.

Advantages
● Real-Time Traffic Adaptation: Unlike static systems, this solution adapts in real-time to changing
traffic conditions, improving efficiency.
● Environmentally Friendly:
● Reduced Fuel Wastage: By optimizing traffic flow, the system minimizes vehicle idling time,
reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
● Less Air Pollution: Improved traffic management leads to lower vehicle emissions, contributing to
cleaner air.
● Cost-Effective: The RFID-based system is more affordable than video analysis or inductive loop
systems, which have high installation and maintenance costs.
Conclusion
● We have successfully achieved the primary objectives of
our project and have developed a system with enhanced
features beyond our initial plans. Our system outperforms
traditional systems by 15%, significantly improving
efficiency. [8] The ITO and Ashram intersections in Delhi
witness approximately 250,000 vehicles per hour, and a
15% improvement represents a significant enhancement.
However, our project faced constraints such as limited
access to large-scale RFID readers, preventing real-time
scenario testing. Additionally, there is room for further
improvements in our Algorithm and System Design.
