Accountabilities:
✵ Responsible for one to one care or one to two care of critically ill patients.
✵ Able to care for Ventilator dependent and well as self-ventilated patients
✵ Competently manages inotropic drugs of patients with sepsis according to trust protocol.
✵ Management of patients with multi-organ failure requiring cardiac monitoring and renal filtration.
✵ Preparation of Emergency drugs and emergency tray ready for use (Intubations tray catheterization tray,
Aspiration sets and Gown packs)
✵ Monitor and report vital signs and medical information of the Patient.
✵ Prepare the patient and equipment for various procedures and assist the Surgeon.
✵ Prepare and administer medications (Oral, IV and SC) as per prescription .
✵ Collect specimens such as blood, sputum, stool and urine, order and record laboratory results.
✵ Provide Oxygen therapy and secretion suctions if needed
✵ Use universal aseptic techniques during wound care and dressings.
✵ Monitor ,analyse and record urine and stool output
✵ Prepare the patient for various investigations like UltraSound, Echo, CT scan, MRI, Endoscopy etc.
✵ Observe and record signs, symptoms, and behaviours, including the physiological status of patients;
present the assessment of changes, the proposed revision of interventions, and desired outcomes.
✵ Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures, and assist others with patient's activities and
care.
✵ Notify appropriate nursing and medical staff to changes in the patient's status.
✵ Perform or assist others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection
control measures.
✵ Keep a record of the patient's medical history, CT scans, X-Rays, blood report, etc and send a copy to
the concerned doctor for further medications. Also, handover a copy of these reports to the patients at
the time of discharge.
✵ Help the patients with the regular activities like bathing, feeding, brushing, etc. Also, clean the wounds
and change the dressings as and when required.
✵ Advise the patient with proper health care tips to be taken care of after discharge.
