ON
APSSDC - ENGINEERING & IT SKILLS
TRAINING PROGRAM ON ARDUINO WITH SCRATCH
Training Program summary report

Event type : THREE DAYS TRAINING PROGRAM

Title : ARDUINO WITH SCRATCH

DATE/DURATION : 17/09/24 to 19/09/24.

RESOURCE PERSONS : Mr. Santhosh Chevvakula, Executive Technical

trainee, Team APSSDC – Engineering & IT Skills

WORKSHOP COORDINATORS : Mr. A.Siva, Mrs. Y.T.R. Palleswari

TARGET AUDIENCE : B.Tech II EEE Students.

TOTAL NO OF PARTICIPANTS : 68 STUDENTS

Venue : A-202

OBJECTIVE OF THE EVENT:

 Introduce Arduino and Scratch programming: Familiarize students with Arduino

microcontrollers and scratch visual programming, focusing on applications relevant to
electrical engineering.
 Develop hands-on skills: Enable students to learn practical skills by working with
Arduino hardware and Scratch to build simple projects.
 Integrate programming with electronics: Teach students to integrate basic
programming with electronic components to understand automation and control
systems.

OUTCOME OF THE EVENT:

 Basic understanding of Arduino and Scratch: Students will gain a fundamental

understanding of Arduino hardware and the Scratch programming environment.
 Proficiency in programming and controlling electronics: Students will be able to write
basic programs in Scratch and use Arduino to control sensors, motors, and LEDs.
 Project development experience: Each student will complete a simple project,
enhancing their practical knowledge and giving them confidence in combining
programming with electronics.
 Improved problem-solving skills: Students will develop logical thinking and problem-
solving skills by debugging their code and troubleshooting circuit connections.
 Preparedness for complex projects: Students will be equipped with the foundational
skills necessary to undertake more advanced projects involving microcontrollers and
embedded systems.

Day 3 - 26/06/24 (A.N):

Topic: LCD interfacing with arduino

Interfacing an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) with an Arduino is a common way to display
information, such as sensor readings, time, or user-defined messages, making it useful for
many electronic projects. Student interfaced the LCD with arduino Using below components
Arduino Board (e.g., Uno, Nano),16x2 LCD Display (or other LCD models, like 20x4)
Potentiometer (to control the contrast of the LCD), Resistors (if using an LED backlight)
Jumper Wires.
