Crochet Toy Pattern

«DOGGIE»
REQUIRED MATERIALS:

✓ Plush yarn Himalaya Dolphin Baby or Yarn Art Dolce approximately

1.5 of skein of main color (depends on your crocheting density and thickness of
the yarn) and approximately 1/3 of skein of dark colored yarn.

ABBREVIATIONS:

MR – magic ring – beginning of crocheting (I use the method of 2 chains)

sc – single crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease
(1 sc, 1 inc)*3 – repeat instruction in brackets 3 times.
(18) – total number of stitches in a round.
R. – row or round.
sl st – slip stitch
FORELEGS
Begin crocheting from the forelegs, so that we will join them to the body later.
The forelegs are crocheted into the body with thread from it, so cut and fasten
the yarn after crocheting each leg.
R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. (3sc, 1inc)*3 (15)
R4. 3sc, 2dec, (3sc, 1inc)*2 (15)
Then crochet the heel in rows. Start in the second stitch from the hook without
turning chain.
Turn, start in the 2nd st from the hook 6sc, Turn, start in the 2nd st from the hook
5sc,
1 sl st, 7sc, 1 sl st, set the marker in the last st and count – in total it turns out
14sc.
If you can not get 14 sc and have more or less, just crochet the increase or
decrease at the end of the round or redone it again by crocheting 14sc.
R5. (5sc, 1dec)*2 (12)
R6. 2sc, 1inc, (3sc, 1inc)*2, 1sc (15)
R7-11 15sc (5 rounds)
Crochet 4sc and 1sl st to move the last st in the center of the leg at the back.
Crochet the second leg in the same way.
Cut the yarn and fasten off on both legs. Weave in the yarn ends. Stuff the legs
with holofiber.

BODY
Begin crocheting from the back of the body with the main color of the Doggie:

R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. 12inc (24)
R4. (3sc, 1inc)*6 (30)
R5. (4sc, 1inc)*6 (36)

R6. 6sc, (1inc, 1sc)*3, 12sc, (1inc, 1sc)*3, 6sc (42)

R7. 7sc, (1inc, 2sc)*2, 1inc, 14sc, (1inc, 2sc)*2, 1inc, 7sc (48)
R8. 23sc, 2inc, 23sc (50)
R9. 12sc, 2inc, 23sc, 2inc, 11sc (54)
R10-12. 54sc (3 rounds)
R13. 5sc, 1dec, 15sc, 1inc, 3sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 3sc, 1inc, 15sc, 1dec, 3sc (56)
R14. 2sc, 1dec, 50sc, 1dec (54)
R15. 4sc, 1dec, 4sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 10sc, 1inc, 5sc, 1inc, 10sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 5sc,
1dec, 2sc (58)
R16. 58sc
In the next two rounds, we will form the "convex" of the hips of the Doggie with
the help of decreases on top of each other.
R17. 8sc, 5dec, 8sc, 1inc, 6sc, 1inc, 8sc, 5dec, 6sc (50)
R18. 1sc, 1dec, 5sc, 3dec, 10sc, 1inc, 3sc, 1inc, 10sc, 3dec, 5sc (45)
Join the forelegs in the next round 19 in the following sequence:
17sc on the body, 11sc on the first foreleg, 3sc on the body, 11sc on the second
foreleg, 15sc on the body. It turns out 57 sts (be sure to check and recount).
We will have holes between the legs and the body, which we crochet with the
other end of the thread from the skein. There are
5 sts unused on the body and 4 sts on the leg. In general, it does not matter how
many sts remain on the leg, the main thing is that you should crochet 11 sts on it.

Continue crocheting the body:

R20-21. 57sc (2 rounds)
R22. 29sc, 1dec, 26sc (56)
R23. 6sc, (1dec, 2sc)*3, 25sc, (1dec, 2sc)*3, 1sc (50) R24. 3sc, 1dec, 18sc, 1dec,
3sc, 1dec, 18sc, 1dec (46) R25. 12sc, 1dec, 21sc, 1dec, 9sc (44)
R26. 1sc, 1dec, 20sc, 1dec, 19sc (42)
R27-28. 42sc (2 rounds)
Stuff with holofiber in the process.
R29. (5sc, 1dec)*6 (36) R30-31.36sc (2 rounds) R32. (4sc, 1dec)*6 (30) R33. 30sc
R34. 10sc + sl st – do not finish the round, so that the neck will be without step
between rounds.

HIND LEGS:
R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. (3sc, 1inc)*3 (15)
R4. 15sc
R5. 8sc, then
1st turn, start in the 2nd st from the hook 7sc, 2nd turn, start in the 2nd st from
the hook 6sc, 3rd turn, start in the 2nd st from the hook 5sc,
4th turn, start in the 2nd st from the hook 4sc + 15sc
Leave the yarn tail about 25 cm or sew
the hind legs with thin thread in tone of
the toy. Stuff with holofiber very
slightly!!

The forelegs should be at a maximum

right angle L, so we sew the hind legs to
the body so that they do not “push” the
forelegs forward.

TAIL
R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6sc
R3. (1sc, 1inc)*3 (9) R4-6. 9sc (3 rounds) R7. (2sc, 1inc)*3 (12) R8-12. 12sc (5
rounds)

If you want the longer tail, then crochet so many rounds as you need. Do not stuff
the tail tightly, it should be soft.
Sew the tail: put the Doggie on a table or a flat surface, put the tail in the center
of the “butt” and sew it in any convenient way for you.

HEAD
Begin crocheting with dark color:
R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. 12inc (24)
R4-6. 24sc (3 rounds)
Change color to the main (light) at the end of round 6.
R7. 9sc with light color, 6inc with dark color, 9sc with light color (30) Cut the
dark colored yarn and continue crocheting with light one.
When changing the color of the yarn, you need to cut them each time and tie the
threads into double knots.
R8. 12sc, 6inc, 12sc (36)
R9-11. 36sc (3 rounds)
R12. (5sc, 1inc)*6 (42)
R13-16. 42sc (4 rounds)
R17. (5sc, 1dec)*6 (36)
R18-19. 36sc (2 rounds)
Before continuing (and finishing) crocheting the head, you need to insert eyes and
a nose.
First stuff the head with fiberfill to see the shape. Do not stuff the head tightly, it
should be elastic. It should not be very tight, then it will be difficult to make the
necessary tightening.
Then insert the eyes, press on them – so we look at how they will look with a
tightening. Insert the nose and insert a thread for tightening the muzzle into the
same hole.
Continue crocheting the head:
R20. (4sc, 1dec)*6 (30)
R21. (3sc, 1dec)*6 (24)
R22. (2sc, 1dec)*6 (18)
R23. (1sc, 1dec)*6 (12) Decreases until the end.

EARS
Leave the yarn tail about 10 cm long before starting MR. R1. 6sc in MR
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. 3sc, 1inc, 2sc, 3sc in 1st, 2sc, 1inc, 2sc (16)
R4. 4sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 3sc in 1st, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 3sc (22)
R5. 5sc, 1inc, 4sc, 1inc, 3sc in 1st, 1inc, 4sc, 1inc, 4sc (28)
If the size of the ears suits you, then crochet one sl st and fasten off. If you want
bigger ears, then crochet round 6.
R6. 4sc, 1inc, 9sc, 3sc in 1st, 9sc, 1inc, sl st
Cut the yarn and leave the yarn tail 10 cm long.

Draw the thread that comes from the MR through the ear down (with a hook or a
needle) and when sewing on the ear, hide these two threads into the head.
