Transport Methodology

Configuring Transport Management System

Logon to 000 client of R/3 system, which is to be designated as Transport Domain

Controller.

The TMS enables system administrators and technical consultants centrally manage the
transport configuration of multiple R/3 systems.

Transport domain: All R/3 Systems that are planned to manage centrally using TMS
form a transport domain.

Transport Domain controller: The R/3 System with the reference configuration is
called as the transport domain controller. All the R/3 systems hold a copy of this
reference configuration.

RFC are generated when TMS is configured for R/3 systems to communicate with all R/3
systems in a domain.

Transport Group: The SAP systems that share a common transport directory tree form a
transport group.

Configuring Transport Domain Controller :

Logon to the R/3 system, which is to be Transport domain controller using SAP* or any
user having similar authorization in to 000 client.
