5. Create an Excel spreadsheet
SOLUTION:
- Open a new spreadsheet.
- Write subject names in the first row and every column and write the names
of students in
the first column.
- Insert marks of all students in all subjects.
- To calculate total marks of each student, use formula [ =SUM(B2;F2) ] for all
students.
- To calculate percentage, use formula [ =G2/200*100 ] for all students.
-To calculate average marks for each subject, use formula
[ =AVERAGE(B2;B31) ] for
all subjects.
- To calculate grade of each student, use formula [
=IF(G2>=230,"A",IF(G2>=210,"B",IF(G2>=190,"C",IF(G2>=170,"D","F")))) ]
The outcome is shown in figure 7
Figure 8
EXPERIMENT 6
SOLUTION:
Open a new spreadsheet.
Write details given in question.
To calculate total sales of each student, use formula [ =SUM(B3;B7) ] for
all years.
To calculate net sales by each salesman, use formula [ =SUM(B3:F3) ] for

To calculate grade of each student, use formula =IF(G3>=90,"A",
IF(G3>=80,"B","C"))
To get Grade from S.No., use formula [ =VLOOKUP(A9, A2:H12, 8,
FALSE) ].
To get filtered marks of students having more than 80%, Home > Sort and
Filter > Filter > Tick the data you want to see.
