General technical description of the refrigerator:


The refrigerator has an electronic control unit and an electronic monitoring unit. Both are on the same PCB and work independently from one
another.
The refrigerator has recirculated air cooling, independent defrosting, condensation evaporation, delayed interior temperature display, optical and
acoustic warning system.
Defrosting is carried out independently each time the compressor stops running. The resulting water drips initially into the melt water tray the
interior and then runs through a hose into the evaporation tray.

The refrigerator’s interior temperature is maintained at +4°C (+/-1°K) by electronic temperature control. Temperature warning limits: upper +6°C,
lower +2°C.

Circulated air in the interior is produced by crossflow blower located behind top section of the air guide panel. This blower is wired for
continuous operation. It is switched off by the door contact switch when the door is opened.

Key switch 1

P 0 When the key switch is in position 0 the buttons have no function. As long as the appliance remains connected to the mains
supply, the word OFF will appear in the display.

P 0 When the key switch is in position 1 all the buttons are active. Reference value and warning thresholds can be displayed but
not changed. The MIN and MAX values can be displayed and reset.

P 0 With the key switch in position P, reference value and warning thresholds can be displayed and changed using buttons 3
and/or 8. In addition, the parameter lists can be requested by pressing the buttons 3 and 8 at the same time (for at least 4
seconds).

NOTE: The appliance must be operated in position 1. We recommend removing the key to prevent the appliance being switched off by mistake.

After being switched on the temperature alarm is not set until the reference value has been reached or after 2 hours.
This gives the cooling system the opportunity to reach the working temperature range without the alarm being triggered.
If the temperature falls below or rises above the respective set temperature thresholds, an acoustic signal is sounded in the operating unit, the
remote warning contact is triggered and the current temperature flashes alternately with the fault message in the display 4 (see fault and status
messages).
The alarm can be switched off using the button 5. If the alarm status is still not eliminated after this, the alarm will sound every 30 minutes. If in
the case of an alarm state the alarm sound is not switched off and the alarm state is automatically eliminated, the alarm sound goes off but the
display continues flashing to show that an alarm state has been triggered. The flashing can be switched off by pressing button 5.
There are 2 buzzers on the control board which are activated in the event of communication problems between operating unit A1 and control
and monitoring unit A2. This alarm can only be switched off for 24 hours by being separated from the mains (remove the plug). If the fault is not
eliminated within this time, the internal buzzer is switched on again. The same applies for fault messages F90-F93 (see fault and status
messages).
Delayed temperature display according to the sample bottle
The temperature display in the alarm circuit is showed subdued according to a sample bottle. Adaptation to the size of the sample bottle can be
made using the parameter A12. A setting of 100 corresponds to a full sample bottle à 250 ml. A setting of approx. 50 corresponds to a half-size
sample bottle and a setting of 1 corresponds to a quarter-size sample bottle. There is no linear connection in the selection of the numerical
values.
Min/max memory
The min/max memory stores the highest and lowest temperature values displayed. The min memory can be deleted by simultaneously pressing
buttons 8 and 5, the max memory correspondingly by pressing buttons 3 and 5. The display indicates 4 dashes ("----") to confirm deletion.
When switched on, the system is given the opportunity to reach the reference value C1. The min/max recording only begins once the reference
value has been reached or after 2 hours.

Safety measures
Temperature is controlled by the monitoring unit, as long as the temperature is outside of the warning limits. In case of high temperatures, the
relay K8 switches on the compressor. In case of low temperatures, the relay K7 interrupts the compressor circuit.
Fault message and buzzer
If an alarm is recognised, it is displayed after the setting in A15 and/or the buzzer switches on. The buzzer sounds intermittently, i.e. it is
switched on and off alternately. Which message appears on the display is listed in the fault and status message table. The fault message itself
is displayed alternating with the current temperature. If more than one fault has occurred, they will be displayed alternately, whereby the current
temperature always appears between, in other words, for example: E0 – Temperature - E1 – Temperature – E0 – Temperature– E1 –
Temperature – E0 – etc.
Independently of this, the alarm is signalised via alarm relay K9 and the LED lights up in the operating unit. If a temperature alarm has to be
confirmed after A14, the alarm remains in the display, even when the temperature has reached the valid range again. In this case, the LED and
the alarm relay K9 are switched off since the alarm is no longer present, but the buzzer and/or display have to be confirmed.
Comparing actual values/display values
An actual value comparison of the control unit must always be carried out if the interior temperature measured does not correspond to the
temperature shown in the display or the reference value setting. This must also be carried out when the control board or the sensors F1 or F3
are replaced. The interior temperature should be measured in the centre of the interior if possible to achieve the greatest possible precision.

Select the parameter list PA0 as follows:


Turn the key switch to position P.
Press buttons 3 and 8 for 4 seconds until PAO appears in the display.
Press button 12, d1 appears in the display.
Use button 3 to select: H5 = Control sensor (F1)
H6 = Display.

Example: parameter H5, control sensor.


If the interior temperature is too warm, adjust to the plus range under H5. If the interior temperature is too cold, adjust to the minus range under
H5.
Example: parameter H6, display.
If the temperature displayed is too warm, adjust to the minus range under H6. If the temperature displayed is too cold, adjust to the plus range
under H6.
A1 Replacing the display unit
The display unit is on the instrument panel beneath the door. Screw the panel off. Then remove the plug connecting A2 (control unit) to A1,
loosen the 2 screws of the display attachment and remove the display unit from the instrument panel (pull out).
A2 Replacing the control and monitoring unit
The control and monitoring unit is behind the instrument panel, protected and covered with a white cap. Remove the connecting plug to A1
(display unit). The board is held on the terminal board by 6 screws. Once the screws have been removed and the plugs pulled out, the control
and monitoring unit can be replaced.
Sensor positions:
Sensor F1, green wire, cooler sensor for temperature control. It is placed behind the upper air guide panel at the right part of the cooler’s rear
panel.
Sensor F3, black wire, cooler sensor for the monitoring unit and readout. It is mounted in the right side panel of the cooler.
Replacing the battery
The battery pack is monitored by the electronics and ACC appears in the display if this is faulty or not providing enough power. The battery pack
is in the machine room at the rear. It is fastened to the terminal board by the battery bracket. To change the battery pack, remove the hoop from
the battery bracket and pull the red and blue cables off. Install the replacement battery in reverse order.
NOTE: Make sure you have the right polarity red + and blue -

Replacing the door handle: Unscrew the two screws above and below of shell handle and then remove towards the shell handle.
Replacing the cylinder lock: From the inside of the door, unscrew the countersunk screw in the bolt. Pull out the bolt, round cover and
insulating tube. Loosen the fastening nut (22 mm socket wrench) and pull the lock out towards the front. Install replacement lock in reverse
order.

Replacing the door seal: The door does not have to be screwed off for the seal to be replaced. Pull the door seal out of the all-round groove.
Force the replacement seal into the grove by hitting it gently with the ball of your thumb or a wooden hammer. Make sure the seal is inserted
into the groove flush to the cover lip.
Replacing the cross-flow fan: Screw the upper angled part of the air baffle off and the attachment plate with the cross-flow fan off the rear of
the interior space and take it out. The cross-flow fan can be screwed off the attachment plate and replaced.

Replacing the door switch: The switch is forced into an indentation on the front of the cover and held in place by means of 2 clamping springs.
Push back the clamping springs using a screwdriver and pull on the pin to remove the switch.
Cooler: Together with the evaporator this forms a ready-to-insert unit which can be replaced without having to interrupt the refrigerant circuit.
The evaporator is pushed through a slot in the rear wall. If the refrigerant circuit is interrupted by non-authorised customer services points, this
renders any warranty invalid.

Converting from right to left opening door and vice versa: - up from ID no. 1700420100
The door closes automatically by means of a spring tensioner mounted in the door once it reaches a 45° angle. This spring tensioner is located
at the top of the door in case of hinges mounted on the right side. When converting the door, the door must be turned with the hinges 180° (top
hinge is at the bottom and bottom hinge is at the top).

When switching the hinges from right to left side, make sure that the spring tensioner in the door was opened 90° beforehand. First unscrew
the compressor cover and place to the back. Open the door 90° afterwards, unscrew the top hinge, tip the door together with the hinge forward
until the hinge is out of the opening. Remove the door by lifting it off the bottom hinge pin.
Screw on the bottom hinge (which used to be at the top). Insert the hinge in the door. Place the door, opened at a 90° angle, in the bottom hinge
and guide the top hinge in the opening of the frame. Screw on the top hinge and closed the door. Now the door can be adjusted.

When switching the hinges from left to right side, the door may also be mounted with a released spring tensioner. To do so, unscrew the
compressor cover first and place to the back. Screw on the bottom hinge first with the round pin. Place the door on the bottom hinge and then
close the door. Tip the door forward a little bit and place the hinge with the square in the door. Pretension the hinge manually and push into the
frame opening and screw down. Adjust the door.

Fault and status messages (extract from the operating manual)


Fault messages are displayed alternating with the current temperature. If several faults have occurred, these are displayed in succession.

If a clock module is not installed, the display will show 1.1.2001 0:00 and cannot be changed.
