What is a verb ?
It is one of the most important parts of the sentence. It tells us about the subject action.
Types of verbs:
There are two big categories of verbs
Lexical Vs Auxiliary Vs
To have/ to be
Modals( can, should, must...)
Transitive verbs
Intransitive verbs
Ditransitive verbs
Transitive verbs
The verb is transitive when it needs one complement which functions as direct object.
Example;

Intransitive verb cannot be followed by an NP, however, it can be followed by an
adverb of time.
Ditransitive Verbs
The verb is ditransitive when it needs two NPs or complements to complete it (one
functions as direct object / the 2nd one functions as indirect.

The difference between direct object and indirect object
Direct object answers the question what?
Indirect object answers the question To whom? / To what?
