Answer :

The advent of decentralized digital currencies, including cryptocurrencies and central

bank digital currencies (CBDCs), has prompted debate about the potential impact on the
traditional functions of central banks. Some argue that the increasing adoption of digital
currencies could diminish the role of central banks, while others believe that central banks will
continue to play a crucial role in maintaining financial stability and regulating the financial
system.

In conclusion, the emergence of decentralized digital currencies can have significant

implications on the traditional functions of central banks, including managing inflation,
regulating the banking sector, and ensuring financial stability. The implementation of CBDCs
can alter the effectiveness of monetary policy, and the development of digital currencies can
influence the way central banks manage inflation and regulate the banking sector. However, the
impact of digital currencies on financial stability is complex and depends on various factors,
including the design and implementation of these currencies.
