SUBJECT: TECHNICAL DRAWING
CLASS NAME: Year 11
TOPIC: PERSPECTIVE DRAWING
W.A.L.T:
Identify and locate main terms used in perspective drawing.
Explain the significance of each term in creating perspective
drawings.
W.I.L.F:
Students should correctly label the horizon, station point,
vanishing points, and planes in perspective drawings.
a.Horizon Line:
A horizontal line that represents the viewer’s eye level.
All vanishing points are located on this line.
b.Vanishing Points:
Points on the horizon line where parallel lines appear to
converge.
Essential for creating depth in your drawings.
c. Orthogonal Lines:
Lines that lead to the vanishing point(s).
These lines help define the edges of objects from the viewer’s
perspective.
iii. Foreshortening:
This technique involves altering the proportions of an object to
create the illusion that parts of the object are closer or farther
away.
