👉 * Zhongshan Hotel Where we stayed, rated as “superb” on Booking, this is within walking
distance to both the Zhongshan station, and Dihua Street in Dadaocheng, and one block from
Ningxia Night Market. Great location and stylish apartment vibes.
👉 * Ximending Hotel Where we stayed, rated as “fabulous” on Booking, this is 2 minutes from
the trendy Ximending area, with plenty of night life and shopping, along with the Ximen
station. The hotel is super friendly, communal, with quiet, comfy rooms.
👉 Tapei 101 view Hotel Where we stayed, rated as “fabulous” on Booking, a couple of minutes
from our favourite Raohe Night Market, and Songshan station. A really splendid hotel, with
wonderful views of the city from up high and lots of modern perks. Free shuttle bus to Taipei
101.
👉 * Super fancy Beitou Hotel Rated as “superb” on Booking, rooms with private hot spring!
👉 * Beitou Hot Spring Hotel Rated as “very good” on Booking, a hot spring hotel without the
eye watering prices!

👉 Rice & Shine - Really nice Taiwanese restaurant on Dihua Street
👉 Din Tai Fung Mitsukoshi Nanxi - The dumplings restaurant. You can see the wait time
HERE but don’t let the long time put you o . You can turn up, take a number, then check that
page to see when you need to return whilst shopping. It’s on the -2 basement oor within the
shopping centre.
👉 Redwood Tea House - Chinese tea house overlooking the cable car view
👉 Livingreen - Really nice Taiwanese restaurant on Dihua Street
👉 Le Boulanger de monge@taiwan - Really nice Taiwanese restaurant on Dihua Street
👉 Fu Hang Soy Milk - (Not shown in the video) Popular local breakfast place serving
traditional breakfasts of soy milk & doughnuts. Long queues!
Attractions and shops
👉 * Taipei 101 Prebook - The ticket we did, visiting the observation deck on the 89th oor
👉 * Easy Card Transport Pass - You can pre top up your travel card so it has money on when
you collect from the airport (Select Easy Card as well as No SIM Card to just get the Easy
Card).
For top up reference, a single train from the airport to city centre is around $160TWD and
then each inter city journey is usually $20/25TWD. It also works in taxis as well as 7/11 and
Family Mart store to pay for food and drinks as well as on the Gondola.
The link shows a map of where to collect the Easy Card at the airport, and the desk is open
04:30-23:00 each day.

👉 Dadaocheng Visitor Center - Info centre but you can also book a free session to dress up in
traditional clothes and take photos HERE. Spaces are limited and should be looked at weeks
ahead. I saw some paid ones further up in Dihua St but didn’t take their details.
👉 Liberty Square - Open space where the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial sits, Changing of the
guard times HERE but usually 10 minutes before 9am each hour until 5pm.
👉 The Red House - Japanese Colonial building that now houses independent markets
👉 Rainbow Road - LGBTQ+ road signifying when Taiwan became the rst country in Asia to
legalise same sex marriage.
👉 Lane 10 - Popular street for LGBTQ+ bars
👉 Zhongshan Linear Park - A cool weekend boutique market is here
👉 Chifeng St - Cool street with cafes such as THIS ONE (I couldn’t lm)
👉 Longfenggu Park - Nature area with all the steam coming out
👉 Chih Nan Temple - The temple on the Grand Trail, you can also take the cable car
👉 Taipei Grand Trail Map - O cial page with some info and a map (All Trails app has some too)
👉 Xiaoyoukeng Visitor Center - Nice lookout spot with nature but the weather was awful for us
so nothing to see (not shown in video)
👉 Beitou - Thermal Valley - Beitou town large open water
👉 Beitou Hot Spring Museum - Free museum about Beitou
👉 Xinbeitou Historic Station - Free tiny museum about the station in Beitou
👉 Shilin Night Market - Popular night market, one of the largest
👉 Raohe Night Market - Our personal favourite Night Market
👉 Ningxia Night Market - Popular night market, this one felt more local which we really
enjoyed, but we were later told that it was very quiet when we went for some reason so maybe
isn’t representative. It was one street from our rst hotel though so was perfect for that.

👉 Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall - We stumbled upon a changing of the guard here also
👉 Xiangshan - Walk up lots of stairs for a nice city view
👉 Four Beasts Scenic Area - Hiking even higher up for city views
👉 Taipei Confucius Temple - Only shown brie y in the video, a nice temple to walk around
