Resources for Self Care

Asian Mental Health Collective


It is the mission of the Asian Mental Health Collective to normalize and de-stigmatize mental health within the
Asian community, and their website offers links to ​crisis hotlines​, ​AAPI therapists​, and their podcast ​Mental
Health Mukbang​, which spotlights “conversations that bring Asian culture and mental health to the table.”

Project Lotus
This youth-led organization aims to “destigmatize mental health in Asian American communities by tackling the
model minority myth,” by providing "culturally-relevant education for the community and the empowerment of
voices". There's also ​an opportunity to join their team​ and contribute to their work.

Asians Do Therapy
This organization is dedicated to "reducing stigma and increase access to therapy for AAPIs" started by
licensed therapist ​Yin J. Li​. Their website includes a list of ​mental health resources​, ​stories from AAPI
members​ about their therapy experiences, and ​steps on how to find the right therapist​.

Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA)


Founded in 1972, AAPA's mission is to "advance the mental health and well-being of Asian American
communities through research, professional practice, education, and policy. Their website offers a number of
resources, including those for ​LGBTQIA+ AAPI community​.

National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association


The mission of the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) is to
promote the mental health and well being of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Check out
their​ ​resources​ and ​advocacy​ pages.

Inclusive Therapists
A social justice movement and directory founded to expand mental and behavioral health care to all
communities, founded by licensed therapist ​Melody Li​. People interested can search for a therapist by
insurance, specialties, identity and more.

The Asian Americans Advancing Justice affiliation has been documenting ​hate crimes and hate incidents​ since
2017 which is available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

Stop AAPI Hate Reporting Center


Launched by the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA),
and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University, the center ​tracks and responds
to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian
Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

”How to take action against anti-Asian racism at work and in your personal life”
This article​ lists different actions to take that can help stop anti-Asian racism and support the Asian community
right now.

Massachusetts Town Hall on Anti-Asian Racism


Join a virtual town hall meeting on Thursday, March 25 from 6-7:30PM ET, to learn how the Asian American
community in Massachusetts is organizing against racism and how you can provide support during the
pandemic. This event is sponsored and hosted by the ​Asian American Commission​ and the ​Asian
American Resource Workshop​.

AAC’s Community Action Guide


Staff at the Asian American Commission created a Community Action Guide to help the community respond to
the rise in hate incidents against the AAPI community.

Bystander Intervention Training


In response to the rise in Anti-Asian/American and xenophobic harassment, ​Hollaback! -​ a global,
people-powered movement to end harassment - partnered with Asian Americans Advancing Justice to adapt
their free ​bystander intervention training and de-escalation training​ to meet this moment.

61 Ways to Donate in Support of Asian Communities
