1. A girl fills a cylindrical bucket 32 cm in height and 18 cm is radius with sand she empties
the bucket on the ground and makes a conical heap of the sand. If the height of the conical
heap is 24 cm find:
(i) its radius
(ii) Its sland height (leave your ans in sq. root form)

2. The radius of two right circular cylinder are in the ratio of 2: 3 and their heights are in the
ratio of 5: 4 calculate the ratio of their curved surface areas and also the ratio of their
volumes.

3. A well 28.8 m deep and of diameter 2 m is dug up. The soil dug out is spread all around the
well to make a platform 1 m high considering the fact losse soil settled to a height in the
ratio 6: 5 find the width of the platform.

4. Two cylinder have bases of same size. The diameter of each is 14 cm. One of the cone is 10
cm high and the other is 20 cm high. Find the ratio between their volumes.

5. If the radius of the base of a right circular cylinder is halved keeping the height same. What
is ratio of the volume of the reduced cylinder to that of the original ?

6. A solid cylinder has total Surface area of 462 square cm. Its Curved surface area is one third
of its total surface area. Find the volume of the cylinder.

7. The difference between out side and inside surfaces of a cylindrical metallic pipe 14 cm long
is 44 cm 2 . If the pipe is made of 99 cubic cm of metal. Find the outer and inner radii of the
pipe.

8. An iron pipe 20 cm long has exterior diameter 25 cm. If the thickness of the pipe is 1 cm find
the whole surface area of the pipe.

9. A glass cylinder with diameter 20 cm water to a height of 9 cm. A metal cube of 8 cm edge is
immersed in it completely. Calculate the height by which water will rise in the cylinder.
(Take π = 3.142)

10. Water is being pumped out through a circular pipe whose external diameter is 7 cm . If the
flow of water is 72 cm per second how many litres of water are being pump out in one
hour.

11. 2.2 cubic dm of brass is to be drawn inio a cylindrical wire 0.50 cm in diameter. Find the
length of the wire.

cylindrical pipe of internal radius 30 cm and thickness 5 cm . Find the length of the pipe.

13. A cylindrical pipe has inner diameter of 7 cm and water flows through it at 192.5 litre per
minute. Find the rate of flow in km/hr.

14. The total surface area of hollow cylinder which is open from both sides is 4,620 cm area of
base ring is 115.5sq. , cm and height 7 cm. Find the thickness of cylinder.

15. Find the length of 13.2 kg of copper wire of diameter 4 mm, when 1 cubic cm of copper
weights 8.4 g.

16. In the middle of a rectangular field measuring 30 m × 20 m a well of 7 m diameter and 10

m depth is dug. The earth be removed is evenly, spread over, the remaining part of the
field. Find the height through which the level of the field is raised.
