III. Procedures:

A. Motivation

Show a picture to the pupils and ask the following:

 What is in the picture?


 What is the left and in the right side of the picure?
 What is the difference between them?
 Where do you want to live?
After that, provide boxes labeled as paper, glass, plastic, and metal. Tell the pupils to pick up
the trashes around them and placed it in the proper box.

B. Presentation

 Introduce the 5R’s (reuse, reduce, recycle, repair, and recover) in waste management.
 Discuss the meaning of each kind of waste management and ask them some questions
related to the topic being discussed.

C. Abstraction/Comparison

Activity # 1

Play 4 Pics One Word.

Activity # 2: Provide worksheets for the pupils.

Directions: Answer the puzzle. Refer to the given clue below.

D. Application

1. Group the class into five.

2. Each group will be given a picture about the 5R’s in waste management.

 Group A – Recycle

 Group D – Repair

 Group B – Reuse

 Group E – Recover

 Group C – Reduce

3. The group will discuss how they understand the ways in managing wastes based on the
picture given.

4. After discussing within the group, choose one representative.

5. The representative of the group will discuss their understanding about the picture.

IV. Evaluation

Directions: Read the following sentences carefully. Write the word reuse, reduce, recycle,
repair, and recover before the sentences that correctly define each of the 5R’s.
