MISS-USE OF MOBILE PHONES

As James Humes says; The art of communication is the language of leadership

The origin of communication draws our attention to the earliest of human civilizations when man kind used variety of methods to send messages and run errands to each other. It was a need of mankind to express and share their happiness, sorrows, victories etc to their beloved ones, thus their this intention lead them to variety of communication methods likewise they used smoke as signals (also used now-a-days by armed forces), different shapes and sign boards were used by Egyptians for communication (we find such examples in highway engineering e.g. parking, no horn, diversion signs). As we know that Necessity is the mother of invention, this made the human being to think and invent some more reliable, faster and better modes of communication. They started training eagles and pigeons and used horses to send messages, but this was limited to only short distances, and was time consuming. Thus a better way was need for telecommunication. The more sheer need of communication was felt in World War-II, because of improper communications and logistics, many countries suffered big losses. Thanks to ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL and his revolutionizing invention of a device termed as Telephone on 10th March, 1876. Due to this invention distant communication was made really very easy. Further developments resulted in form of Mobile Phones. The first cell phone came to this gadget world in 1981, when MIT (Massa-chutes institute of technology), America introduced first ever full automatic, hand held communicating device. From Motorola's first phone, which weighed in at 2 pounds, to Apple's upcoming iPhone, has made drastic changes in mass communication and media world, and communication was made as fast as we just blink our eye and the message is delivered. There are plenty of dramatic advantages of this new invention, but other way round we have plenty of odds associated with this, which cannot be neglected at any cost. Some of these negative points resulted in negative use of this product, ultimately affecting the man kind in a harsh way and reducing the moral values. Some major miss-uses are listed below:

1. Cell phone abuse:

If you are in a public place and trying to concentrate on something or in serious discussion with your friend, and a stranger 5 to 10 feet away starts talking on his cell phone loudly, ultimately breaking your concentration. Now you are a victim of cell phone abuse. This may affect in following ways:

a) Inability temperament

to

concentrate

on

what

you

are

doing,

losing

your

b) Severe irritability and annoyance c) Sensitivity to stupid ring tones (pop songs or loud music) d) Initially thinking that the cell phone user is actually talking to you e) Wishing the user would finish the call f) Wishing the user would leave the place

2. Inattention blindness: a) Cell phone use in social situations may result in overload both b) c) d) e)
f) physical and mental. Local interaction with the surroundings and remote interaction with the other person demands certain attention- E.g. When we talk in a bus stand or crossing the road. Cell phone use in public places makes the user blind to local cues due to cognitive overload. E.g. when we use cell phone while walking through the road, we may not see a vehicle coming close to you. Cell phone use in public places increases the reaction time to events around the user. E.g. we will not get time to move away from a danger. Reduced attention to local situation may disturb others since the user is not attending the social situation. E.g. our conversation and body language may be annoying to others. Use of Mobile phones in gatherings, meetings, entertainment places etc disturb others through inattention blindness

3. Caller Hegemony:
It is defined as the asymmetric relationship between the caller and answerer. a) The alarming ring tone may demand higher attention to the phone rather than the local settings. If you use cell phones in busy areas, trains or buses, the sudden ring tone may alter your attention or the message from the caller may cause a disturbed feeling. This will leads to inattention blindness. This will not be the condition, if you use a land phone.

4. Cognitive load: a) Mobile phone use in public places makes the user overloaded and
become unaware of the details of communicative behavior of colocated individuals as well as other relevant features of the social

situation. It is advised that do not use cell phones while driving a vehicle or operating machinery or crossing the road.

5. Accidents: a) Mobile phone use while driving may cause accidents due to inattention
blindness and cognitive load phone conversation distracts the drivers attention, increase reaction time, and reduce visual field attention c) Cognitive load rises above visual sensation and diverts attention. d) Memory of visual inputs and Response will drastically reduce if the cognitive load increases when using cell phone along with driving. e) The same negative effects may also happen if the driver uses a hands free phone. E.g. If the actual distance between two vehicles is 5 meters, due to cognitive load, the driver may feel that, it is 10 meters. This is the reason for the accidents, if cell phone is used while driving a vehicle.

b) Cell

E-Waste:
a) Obsolete cell phones are becoming one of the important sources of electronic waste. Due to the fast development of mobile technology, new versions of mobile phones are coming and people buy them and discard the old one. The discarded cell phones become a source of environmental pollution if they are not recycled. There are toxic chemicals like, lead, zinc, mercury etc in the electronic components of mobile phones. The bromine flame retardants used in computers and mobile phones are toxic if enters into the body. If these toxic chemicals accumulate, they leach into the water bodies and finally get into the body of animals including human beings through drinking water. Prevention of e-waste and promotion of Green electronics is a new challenge in the field of electronics.

6. Cybercrime/ Cyber bullying: a) With the increased use of camera phones and Multimedia facilities and
blue tooth technology, mobile phone related cyber crime incidents are increasing. Cybercrime includes traditional activities such as fraud, theft or forgery, whenever a telecommunication system is involved. The word Cyber is derived from the Greek word Kubernetes meaning Steersman .It is used in the terms cybersex, cybernetics, cyberspace, cyberpunk, cyber homes and cyber hate etc. It is used in the computer or electronic context to denote control of the thing represented by the word it precedes.

b)Of late, the mobile phone has come into the limelight and it is being put to use for illegal operations terrorist attacks, extortions, kidnapping and sex and drug rackets.

7. Psychological problems:
Over use of Cell phones may cause two new generation Psychological problems.

a) No-Mo phobia (No Mobile phobia)

When we run out of credit or battery, lose of phone or are in an area with no reception, being phoneless can bring a panic symptom referred to as NoMo Phobia or No Mobile phobia. To overcome NoMo phobia, two methods are suggested. One is to keep the battery in top condition and the credit sufficient. Another method is, deliberately avoid mobile phone for few hours and then few days. Then you will feel that it is not an important thing.

c) Ringxiety- Ringtone anxiety:

This is an anxiety symptom related to the over use of mobile phone, a form of addiction. Ringxiety refers to the sensation and false belief that the mobile phone is ringing or vibrating. The term is also used to explain

the condition in which a person frequently takes the cell phone to see whether there is any a miscall or messages.

Misuse of mobile phones by students/Youth: a) In the modern world even the school students have their own mobile.
People are addicted to the mobiles phones very much. At the small age the people are started using the mobile phones. The signal from the mobile phones will affect the small children and bring them the brain diseases very soon when they are young. A survey revealed that 12% of average duration of life is affected by the excessive use of cell phones. b) The students are using the phones with all the facilities especially the camera of video recording and video play back. With the camera they are started doing the illegal activities. According to the survey nearly 70 to 80 percentages of the students mobile is having the porn videos and the porn photos. c) The last and major miss use of cell phones comes in front of us in a tragic manner. The youth intends to use it in negative way in capturing the porn videos with their girlfriends and uploading them to the internet, this has increased the suicide ratio in our society and spreading like epidemic to ruin our youth.

8. Radiation Hazards
Mobile phone technology uses electromagnetic radiation in the Giga

hertz range. These radiations are close to microwave range and with similar properties. Part of the radio wave emitted from the mobile phone is absorbed by the human head. The radiation emitted by a GSM handset can have a peak power of 2 watts. The rate at which radiation is absorbed by the human body is measured in terms of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and its maximum levels for modern handset is set between 1.6 to 2 W/Kg averaged for 1 gram tissue. If the SAR level is above the limit, it may cause both Thermal and Non thermal effects in the body especially in the ear and head since these are at the near Field of the radiation. Thermal effect of microwave is the Dielectric heating in which any dielectric material such as living tissue is heated by the rotations of the polar molecules such as water.

a) In the case of a person using mobile handset for hours in a day, most
of the heating effects occur in the internal ear, head surface and even in the brain. Internal ear has fluid filled structures which are more susceptible to the heating effect. Brain tissue is delicate which can be affected if the radiation exposure is severe.

b) Some

of

the brain

waves that

determine

the mood and alertness resemble the mobile radiation in frequency. So that normal brain functions can be affected even in a few persons using mobile phones continuously.

c) Another structure that can be affected by heating is the cornea of the

eye. It is the transparent covering present on the front part of the eye. Cornea lacks blood supply, so that the heat generated there cannot be removed easily and it may cause premature cataract. Non thermal effects etc. include alterations in bio-cycles, cellular metabolism, spermatogenesis, abnormalities in fetal developments, miscarriage

d) Some

users

also

feel

different

symptoms

like

fatigue,

sleep

disturbances, dizziness, loss of mental concentration etc. All these effects may be due to the influence of radiation on the diamagnetic field of the body.

9. THERMAL EFFECT:
Science has proved it; Temperature in the internal ear, brain etc increases to 1 degree or more after 15 minutes use of mobile phone. This adversely affects the functioning of these organs since these have fluid filled cavities. In short Thermal effect causes: a) Burning sensation in the Scalp and Ear b) Mood alteration and lack of concentration c) Lethargy and lack of sleep d) Whistling sound in the ear e) Premature Cataract- Cornea of eye lacks blood supply and heat cannot be disposed f) Confusion and loss of memory since the microwaves interfere with the mood controlling brainwaves g) Alters sleep physiology and biological rhythm by changing the level of Dopamine, Serotonin hormones

Conclusion:
From all cited above we find the more use of this invention is likely biased towards the dark side of the picture, and jus because of this we all are suffering in one form

or the other. Night packages offered to any network is one of the traps of free masons/ Jews to divert Muslims away from their religion and prayers and remain stick to this idiotic work. We are being deprived of our culture and moral values for which our ancestors sacrificed their lives. Thus we should do all the positive efforts to reduce this epidemic and educate people about the dangerous outcomes resulting from the silly mistakes and we should worth our values more than our gadget friends and machines. As IQBAL said;

Hai dil k liye moat, mashino ki hukoomat, Ehsas-e-murrawat ko kuchal daity hain Aallaat
