SNOWBALLS RETURN
Years passed. The seasons came and the short animal life fled by. A time came when there was no one
who remembered the old days before the rebellion but everyone remembered Snowball. Everyone
remembered how bravely he fought at the Battle of Cowshed despite Squealer attempts to rewrite history.
Muriel was dead, Bluebell, Jessie and Pincher were dead. Jones too was dead; he had died in a home in
another part of the country. There were many more creatures on the farm, and Snowball himself was
among them. He had secretly been spreading messages about how in the olden times Old Major said to
rebel against the humans. Our own kind has become to look like humans. It took a while for his
movement to start growing. Once it did there was no stopping it. They started a rebellion but it was the
small things that counted. They all began rising against Napoleon by not working, refusing to do anything
they told him. Napoleon’s dogs growled but it was not enough. The animals forced him out of the farm.
Now what all the animals said. The elderly animals added now were at the same place as the first
rebellion. The real question was what are we going to do now? Snowball hushed them all down; he
suggested a 20 hour work week. They would start this task by starting rebellions on all the other farms,
and drive out all the neighboring farmers. This task took about 1 week. Once this all happened he
installed the idea that instead of one leader they should all elect 20 leaders and those leaders discuss with
the people on ideas that would benefit the entire farm not just one group. Everyone agreed. Snowball also
installed an education system in which everyone on the farm would have a chance to learn how to read
and write. The program was said to last 5 months, those taking this class were excused from working. We
will also begin building 5 windmills and will use them for the original purpose of making all of our lives
easier. The animals voted and the leaders were Snowball, a horse, a catcher, a duck, a turtle, a dog, a frog
and a donkey. The building and education systems began the windmills with everyone’s jolly spirits in a
year. It wasn’t a grueling exercise like the one with Napoleon as the ruler. The animals all assembled
again to hear because of the windmill being completed and the animals being literate he proposed an idea
to install an army project to defend themselves from invaders. This idea passed; it was completed in a
year all animals could fight for themselves. The years passed, each year getting better and better the
animals all got rations far beyond what they could even eat. They installed a rule where for each retired
animal to produce food for them the leaders would have 5 hour work weeks. Everyone on the farm lived
