Hot hydraulic oil under high pressure can remain in the components of
the hydraulic system or the power train system after the engine has been
stopped. The uncontrolled release of the hydraulic oil can cause sudden
machine movement and can also result in the following conditions:
• Burns
• Death
Personal injury or death can result from not engaging the parking
brake.

Introduction
The ladder system is controlled by an electronic pump. This pump output is controlled by a relief
valve that can only be tested by stalling the pump.

Test Preparation
D11 Track Type Tractor KSN00001-UP (MACHINE)(M0104113 - 25) - Documentación Page 4 of 6
1. Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and
away from personnel.
2. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in
the sight of the operator.
3. Place the steering and transmission control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
7. Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
9. Move the control levers through the full range of travel several times. Moving the control levers
will relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.
10. Make sure that the pressure in the entire hydraulic system has been released.

(LA2) Ladder Lower Pressure
Note: Keep the ladder in full raised position for this test.
11. Attach Tooling (T2) to pressure taps (LA1) and (LA2). Attach pressure taps to Tooling (T2).

12. Attach Tooling (T1) to Tooling (T2) on pressure taps (LA1) and (LA2).
Note: Do not lower the ladder after Tooling (T2) and (T1) are installed. Installed Tooling (T2)
and (T1) will interfere with ladder operation.
Test Procedure
1. Start the engine. Warm the hydraulic oil to a minimum temperature of 65° C (150° F).
3. With the ladder in the full RAISE position, give a raise command to stall the pump.
Note: Do not lower the ladder. There is test equipment interference with ladder operation.
4. Record the pressure at pressure tap (LA1). The stall pressure should be 20700 ± 500 kPa
(3000 ± 70 psi).
8. With the ladder in the full LOWER position, give a lower command to stall the pump.
9. Record the pressure at pressure tap (LA2). The stall pressure should be 20700 ± 500 kPa
(3000 ± 70 psi).
Adjustment Procedure

Located under the floor plate on the inside left-hand frame.
2. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase the pressure or counterclockwise to decrease
the pressure.
Note: ¼ of a turn will either increase or decrease the pressure by about 689 kPa (100 psi).
4. After the pressure is adjusted to the specified pressure, replace the cap on the relief valve.
