The Integrated Water Supply System for the Town of Khabat and its Environs is being

proposed to increase both the quantity of potable water available to the public living
in the Town of Khabat and to areas surrounding the Town of Khabat. The project is Project Specifications
located in northern Iraq in the Governorate of Erbil. The project area comprises 26 Construction Cost: $ 110 Million

The proposed project is mainly composed of a water treatment plant and a treated Services Provided
water transmission system.
‚‚ Design
The ultimate capacity of water treatment plant to fulfill the water demand till year 2035 ‚‚ Tender Documents
is 3,000 m3/hr, constructed in two phases, phase I 2,000 m³/hr & phase II 1,000 m³/hr.
The scope of this contract includes phase I only.
The locations of the treatment plant and water intake are proposed at location north
east of Khabat Town.
Water treatment plant components include the following:
Raw water intake pumping station on the Great Zab River; Raw water transmission
pipe; Influent metering and rapid mixing; Flocculation and sedimentation; Filtration;
Coagulant chemical addition including alum and polymer; Disinfection; Treated Water
Reservoir; A high lift pumping stations; Standby electrical generators; and Controls;
instrumentation; buildings; and other appurtenances.
Treated Water Transmission system
Treated water transmission components include the following:
‚‚Treated water transmission pipelines;
‚‚Remote ground and elevated service water reservoirs;
‚‚Associated booster pumping stations and
‚‚Standby electrical generators.
