SECTION-B:
21.The correct Answer is:3a/2c^2log∣∣b2+c2x2∣∣

24. Given that, y = 5x – 2x3

Then, the slope of the curve, dy/dx = 5-6x2
⇒d/dt [dy/dx]= -12x. dx/dt
= -12(3)(2)
= -72 units per second
Hence, the slope of the curve is decreasing at the rate of 72 units per
second when x is increasing at the rate of 2 units per second.
25. y = sin x

= – [cos π – cos 0]

= -(-1 -1)

= 2 sq. units
SECTION C :

26.

= [- 3 – I] = [- 4]1 × 1
∴ Order of matrix A is 1 × 1.

27.

⇒ 2x (x +1) – (x + 3) (2x + 2) = 3 – 15
⇒ 2x2 + 2x – (2x2 + 8x + 6) = -12
⇒ – 6x – 6 =-12 ⇒ 6x = 6
∴x=1

28.

Let us assume that “r” be the radius of the given disc and “A” be the area, then the area is given
as:

A = πr2

By using the chain rule,

Then dA/dt = 2πr(dr/dt)

Thus, the approximate rate of increase of radius = dr = (dr/dt) ∆t = 0.05 cm per second

Hence, the approximate rate of increase in area is:

dA = (dA/dt)(∆t) = 2πr[(dr/dt) ∆t ]

= 2π (3.2) (0.05)

= 0.320π cm2 per second.

Therefore, when r= 3.2 cm, then the area is increasing at a rate of 0.320π cm2/second.

29.

y = 2x + 1, y = 3x + 1 and x = 4
On drawing the graph of these equations, we get the following triangular region
By solving these equations we get the vertices of triangle as A(0, 1), B(4, 13) and C(4, 9).
∴ Required area = Area (OABDO) – area (OACDO)

30.
31. Let us draw the graph pf x + y =4 as below.

The shaded region (OAB) in the above figure is the feasible region determined by the system of
constraints x ≥ 0, y ≥ 0 and x + y ≤ 4.

The feasible region OAB is bounded and the maximum value will occur at a corner point of the
feasible region.

Corner Points are O(0, 0), A (4, 0) and B (0, 4).

Evaluate Z at each of these corner points.

Corner Point Value of Z

O(0, 0) 2 (0) + 3(0) = 0

A (4, 0) 2 (4) + 3(0) = 8

B (0, 4) 2 (0) + 3 (4)= 12 ← maximum

Hence, the maximum value of Z is 12 at the point (0, 4).

32.

Given that, ∫ sin3 x cos2x dx

This can be written as:

∫ sin3 x cos2x dx = ∫ sin2 x cos2x (sin x) dx

=∫(1 – cos2x ) cos2x (sin x) dx —(1)

Now, substitute t = cos x,

Then dt = -sin x dx

Now, equation can be written as:

Thus, ∫ sin3 x cos2x dx = – ∫ (1-t2)t2 dt

Now, multiply t2 inside the bracket, we get

= – ∫ (t2-t4) dt

Now, integrate the above function:

= – [(t3/3) – (t5/5)] + C —(2)

Where C is a constant

Now, substitute t = cos x in (2)

= -(⅓)cos3x +(1/5)cos5x + C

Hence, ∫ sin3 x cos2x dx = -(⅓)cos3x +(1/5)cos5x + C

32.b. Given function: f (x) = 4x3 – 6

Now, integrate the function:

∫4x3 – 6 dx = 4(x4/4)-6x + C

∫4x3 – 6 dx = x4 – 6x + C

Thus, the antiderivative of the function, F is x4 – 6x + C, where C is a constant

Also, given that, F(0) = 3,

Now, substitute x = 0 in the obtained antiderivative function, we get:

(0)4 – 6(0) + C = 3

Therefore, C = 3.

Now, substitute C = 3 in antiderivative function

Hence, the required antiderivative function is x4 – 6x + 3.

33.

On taking(a + b + c) common from R2 and R3 we get

LHS = 2 (a+b + c)3∣∣∣∣100a10b01∣∣∣∣
On expanding along R3, we get
LHS = 2(a + b + c)3(1 – 0)
= 2(a + b + c)3 = RHS
Hence Proved

x + 2y ≤ 120 …(ii)
x + y ≥ 60 …(iii)
x – 2y ≥ 0 … (iv)
and x ≥ 0, y ≥ 0
Table for line x + 2y = 120 is

Put (0, 0) in the inequality x + 2y ≤ 120, we get

0 + 2x ≤ 120
⇒ 0 ≤ 120 (which is true)
So, the half plane is towards the origin. Secondly, draw the graph of the line x + y = 60

On putting (0, 0) in the inequality x + y ≥ 60, we get

0 + 0 ≥ 60 ⇒ 0 ≥ 60 (which is false)
So, the half plane is away from the origin.
Thirdly, draw the graph of the line x – 2y = 0.
On putting (5, 0) in the inequality x – 2y ≥ 0, we get
5 – 2 × 0 ≥ 0 ⇒ 5 ≥ 0 (which is true)
Thus, the half plane is towards the X-axis. Since, x, y ≥ 0
∴ The feasible region lies in the first quadrant.

Clearly, feasible region is ABCDA.

On solving equations x – 2y = 0 and x + y = 60,
we get D(40,20) and on solving equations
x -2y = 0 and x + 2y = 120, we get C (60, 30). The corner points of the feasible region are A (60, 0),
B (120, 0), C (60, 30) and D (40, 20). The values of Z at these points are as follows

Corner point Z = 5x + 10y

A (60, 0) 300 (minimum)

8(120,0) 600

C (60, 30) 600

D (40, 20) 400

Clearly, the minimum value of Z is 300 at the points (60, 0)

Given equations of circle is x2 + y2 = 16 and x = √3y.

⇒ y = 13√x represents a line through the origin.
The line y = 13√x intersects the circle
∴ x2 + x23 = 16
⇒ 3x2+x23 = 16
⇒ 4x2 = 48 ⇒ x2 = 12 ⇒ x = ±2√3
when x = 2√3, then y = 23√3√ = 2
Required area (shaded region in first quadrant)
= (Area under the line y = 13√x from x = 0 to 2√3) + (Area under the circle from x = 2√3 to x = 4)
