About Preliminary Contest:

The Preliminary Online Contest for the selection of the teams for the onsite contest to be
held in Chennai on 14th- 15th December 2024 (Tentative) has been scheduled on Saturday
, 16 November, 2024. All teams desiring to participate at the ICPC Chennai Site Contest
must register and participate in this online contest. Because of the limited number of
available slots in Chennai Site Contest, we have decided the following:
• The Online contest will be open to all teams who have completed the registration
formalities.
• All registered teams have to participate in the online contest which will be held on
Saturday , 16 November, 2024 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM.
• Only top few teams with better performance in the online contest will be advanced for
the Chennai Onsite contest.

Rules:

• The contest will be conducted over the Internet.


• Teams whose registration formalities are completed are only eligible to participate in the
contest.
• You are not allowed to discuss strategy, suggestions or tips in the comments with
anyone other than contestants of your team during the contest.
• Contest problems will become visible on the contest landing page on CodeDrill on 16
November, 2024 from 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM.
• Any issue related to Contest Platform (i.e. CodeDrill) cannot be challenged at any
stage.
• Organising Institute will not be responsible in case any program does not work at our
environment. So, try to use one of the mentioned compiler versions.
• Judges' decision will be treated as final. No correspondence in this regard will be
entertained.
• Chennai Site will not be responsible for any internet failure during the contest at the
contestants’ site.
• Each participating team must submit solutions during the contest period.
• Selection of Teams may or may not reflect the Ranking of the Teams
Selection Procedure for On-site Contest:

• There are approx.110 slots available for the Onsite contest.


• In the online preliminary contest, out of all the teams registered for Chennai region, 100
gender- neutral teams will be selected and 10 Girl-only teams (Team that consists of
only girls) will be selected.
• Selection Criteria is as follows:
1. Discard all teams who could not solve a single problem.
2. Rank all teams based on the performance in the Preliminary Round.
3. Select top 10 (ten) ranked teams for Onsite Contest.
4. Remove these 10 teams from the Rank List
5. Select the top ranked team from each distinct school or institute.
6. Arrange all these top ranked teams with respect to their performance in the
Preliminary Round.
7. Select teams from the top as long as the Onsite Contest slots are available and the
list is not exhausted.
8. In case it is found that the number of selected teams in this process is less than the
available slots, remove selected teams from the Rank List and repeat step 5
