Profile of Panellists
Profile of Speakers

Sandra Aparcana is a Senior Advisor on Circular Economy (CE) and Waste


Management. With 20 years of experience, she specializes in Circular
Economy, waste management technologies, and the inclusion of the informal
waste sector. Sandra leads decarbonization projects, focusing on CE
strategies, climate transparency, and MRV frameworks. Her expertise extends
to food waste prevention, waste-to-energy initiatives in humanitarian crises,
and energy recovery. Sandra holds a PhD in Waste Management from BOKU,
Sandra Aparcana Austria, and a Master's in International Material Flow Management from
Senior Expert (Circular Economy) Germany, with extensive experience in design of recycling and biogas plants.

Heidi Schütt Larsen is the Vice President and Director of Circular Economy at
Dansk Retursystem A/S, where she has worked for over 14 years. She leads
efforts to enhance circular economy practices, particularly focusing on closed-
loop recycling for PET bottles and aluminum beverage cans. Under her
leadership, Dansk Retursystem has achieved one of the highest return rates in
the world, with 96% of collected packaging recycled back into new bottles or
cans. Heidi is also a board member of RE-ZIP, contributing to sustainable

Prof. Flavio Rosa CITERA Research Center Sapienza University of Rome Italy
Graduated in Environmental Engineering and Land Management at the Faculty
of Engineering of Sapienza University Rome. He completed his PhD in Energy
at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Energy Conversions (DINCE).
He is an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Technical Physics at the Faculty of
Architecture in Rome from 2014. He is involved in university research at both
national and international levels, focusing on energy efficiency and
environmental sustainability in the built environment, with particular attention
