QUESTIONS

1. Discuss the various networking devices

1.Router-connects multiple network and directs data packets between them it is used in homes to

connect internet.

2.Hub-is a basic devise that connects multiple Ethernet devises,making them act as single

network segment,its is less common since it has been replaced by switches due to inefficiencies.

3.Load balancer-it distributes network or application traffic across multiple servers,it is used to

enhance responsiveness and availability of applications.

4.Gateway- act as a gate way between to different networks,often with different protocols,it is

commonly used to connect a local network to the internet or to another network.

5.Bridge-connects two or more network segments,making them function as a single network,it

reduces traffic on a network by segmenting it.

6.Repeater-it regenerates and amplifies signals to extend the transmission distance of a

network,it is useful in large networks or areas with signal loss.


7.Switch -connects devises within a single network,allowing them to communicate with each

other,they are commonly used in local area network to link computers,printers,and servers.

8.Modem- modulate and demodulates signals for data transmission over telephone lines cable

systems,or satellite links. It a home or business network to the internet service provider.

9.Firewall-monitor and control incoming and out going network based on predetermined security

rules,it protect network from unauthorized access and Cyber threats.
