1. Cấu trúc Although/because

Although + S + V + O, S + V + O S + V + O although S + V + O

Because + S + V + O, S + V + O S + V + O because S + V + O

2. Cấu trúc Despite, in spite of, because of, due to

Đều có cách sử dụng giống nhau: Despite, in spite of, because of, due to +
noun/ Ving
Cách chuyển đổi từ cấu trúc Although, because sang cấu trúc Despite, in
spite of, because of, due to
Quy tắc 1: Nếu 2 vế của câu đều cùng một chủ ngữ
 lược bỏ chủ ngữ và although, because, chuyển động từ về V_ing.
Because Linda runs fast, she can win the race. → Because of running fast, Linda can
swim the race.

Quy tắc 2: Nếu câu có dạng there be + danh từ

 bỏ there be, thay thành the + N
Because there was a storm, we didn’t go to school today. → Because of a storm, we
didn’t go to school today.

Quy tắc 3: Nếu câu có dạng N + be + adj

 The/ his/ her/.... + adj + N
Because the beach was too crowded, I went back to the hotel. → Because of the
crowded beach, I went back to the hotel.

Quy tắc 4: Nếu câu có dạng Pronoun + be + adj

 His, her, their,... + N ( of the adj )
Jame falls in love with Juliet because she is kind. → Jame falls in love with Juliet
because of her kindness.
Quy tắc 5: Nếu câu có dạng Pronoun + V + adv
 The/ tính từ sở hữu + adj ( of the adverb ) + N ( of the verb )
Although he behaved impolitely, ...........  Despite his impolite
bahavior,...............
Quy tắc 6: Nếu câu có dạng: It + be + tính từ về thời tiết ( rainy, foggy,
snowy,...)
 The + N ( of the adj )
Because it is snowy,.......  because of the snow

Quy tắc 7: Nếu câu có dạng N + be + V ( bị động)

 Đổi V thành danh từ, thêm the phía trước và of phía sau
Although television was invented,.......  in spite of the invention of television

Quy tắc 8: Sử dụng “the fact that”

Ta chỉ cần thêm cụm “the fact that” vào trước mệnh đề sau despite, in spite of,
because of mà không cần thay đổi gì cả
