Main Body: "Addressing Major Challenges and Fostering Effective Citizenship"


In a small town in Pakistan, a community of citizens is grappling with several
pressing challenges, including poverty, illness, ignorance, injustice, and a lack of
positive thinking. Among them, Amina, a young woman, is struggling to support her
family as her father, the sole breadwinner, has fallen ill. Meanwhile, her brother, who
lacks formal education, faces exploitation at work due to his ignorance of labor rights.

Additionally, the local judicial system is slow to address grievances, leading to


widespread feelings of injustice among the townspeople. Amina is determined to
uplift her family and community, but she knows it will take a collective effort to
overcome these obstacles.
The Requirement (10 marks):
As a student of effective citizenship, you must provide the answers to the given
questions within the provided table format.

Q1: Identify and describe two ways in which poverty is affecting Amina's family and
their ability to cope with her father's illness. (1.5*2 marks)
Q2: Discuss how increasing literacy in the community could alleviate some of the
challenges faced by Amina's brother. Provide two specific benefits of promoting
education. (2*2 marks)
Q3: Reflect on the importance of positive thinking in Amina's situation. How can
fostering a positive mindset among the community members help them tackle the
issues they face? (3 marks)
