terms.

b) What is Jacobian matrix? How the elements of Jacobian matrix are computed? What are
the advantages and disadvantages of Newton-Raphson method?

14 a) Obtain the load flow solution at the end of first iteration of the system. The solution is
to be obtained for the following cases:
i) All buses except bus 1 are PQ buses
ii) ii) Bus 2 is a PV bus whose voltage magnitude is specified as 1.04.
iii) iii) Bus 2 is a PV bus with voltage magnitude is specified as 1.04 and 0.25≤ 𝑄2 ≤
0.8𝑝u

The voltage at bus 1 is adjusted to 1.05 p.u. Voltage magnitude at bus 3 is fixed at 1.04
p.u. with real power generation of 200MW. A load consisting of 400MW and
250MVAR is taken from bus 2. Line impedances are marked in per unit on a 100MVA
base and line susceptances are neglected. (REPEATED TWICE)
