1. If the point (2, 3) is the focus and x = 2y + 6 is the directrix of a parabola, find
(i) the equation of the parabola, (ii) the equation of the axis,
(iii) the vertex (iv) the length and equation of the latus rectum.
2. A parabola has its vertex at (2, 1) and the directrix is the line x = y-1. Find the equation of the
parabola. Also find the length of LR, the coordinates of the focus and those of the extremities of
