Learning Mathematics Teaching Dates & Duration December 14,
Area 2023 1 hour
I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Content Standards The learner should demonstrate understanding in
multiplying integers.
Performance Standards The learner must be able to perform multiplication
of integers.
Learning Competencies/Code Multiply Integers
Objectives
● Knowledge Demonstrate understanding of the rules for
multiplying integers;
● Skills solve problems involving multiplication of integers
with accuracy and speed; and
● Attitude /Values apply the concept of multiplying integers to real-life
situations.
II. CONTENT MULTIPLYING INTEGERS

IV. PROCEDURES Teacher activity Student activity

A. Review/Introductory
Activity
“Good morning class! Please stand
(5 minutes) up for the prayer, may I request
(name of student) to please lead the
prayer.” (student starts to lead the prayer)
“Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass
against us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from
evil. Amen

“Again good morning grade 7

students!
“Good morning ma’am!”

“Before you take your seats, please

pick up pieces of papers under your
chairs and please arrange your
chairs properly.”
(students picking up pieces of
papers)
“Okay well done, you may take
your seats.”

“Wow! I have observed a lot of

faces today. Class mayor please
check the attendance.” “No absent ma’am”

“No absent, very good! keep it up

Class.”

“Okay before we start our new

lesson for this morning, can anyone
give me a recap of what we tackled
last meeting.” Yes (students name)
“Last meeting we tackled about
subtracting integers.”
“Okay very good! We tackled
about subtracting integers.”
B. Activity/ Motivation
(10 minutes) “Now, before we proceed to our
new topic, we will have a group
activity. I have already divided you
in 4 teams. We have green team,
orange team, yellow team, and blue
team.”
“Our activity is called speed test”

“I have here flash cards that

contains mathematical equations.
What you’re going to do is to fill in
the missing integers in each
equation and choose representative
to answer in each round. Over all
there will be 10 rounds, in every
round different member of the
group will answer.”
“You need to answer all the rounds
very quick. If you finished writing
your answers on the board
provided, raise your boards
immediately.”
“The group who will first raise their
answers correctly will get 1 point,
and the group who will gain the
highest score will be declared as the
winner.”

Students possible answer:

lesson where the
concepts are clarified “Based in our activity. What are
your observations or what did you

“Yes, very good. Now, what is the

product if we multiply both positive
integer” “If we multiply both positive
integer the product will also
positive integer”

“very good !Kindly share some

example of multiplying both
positive integer” “10 x 10 = 100”

“okay good job! Please give other

examples for multiplying both
positive integers”
“11 x 5 = 55”

“How about if we multiply both

negative integer what will be the
product?
“If we multiply both negative
integer the product will be a
positive integer”

“okay very good! Now kindly share

some example of multiplying both
negative integer”
“-10 x -3 = 30”

“okay good job! Other examples

for multiplying both negative
integers” “-2 x -9 = 18”

“what about If multiply positive

integer to a negative integer”
“if we multiply positive integer
to a negative integer the product
will be negative”
“okay very good! Now kindly share
some example of multiplying
positive integer to a negative
integer”
“-5 x 9 = -45”

“okay good job! Other examples

for multiplying positive integer to a
negative integer”
“Very students!” “8 x -8 = -64

D.Abstraction
(10 minutes) “Based on the activity a while a go
There are rules in multiplying
integers”
“In rule Number 1, if we multiply
positive integer to a positive integer
the product will be positive.”

Ex.

“Rule number 2. If we multiply

negative integer to a negative
integer

Ex.

“Lastly, the rule number 3. If we

multiply positive integer to a
negative integer or negative integer
to a positive integer the product
will be negative”
Ex.

“Kindly generalize the rules in

“In general when we multiply
multiplying integers”
like signs the product will be
positive and if we multiply
unlike signs the product will be
negative”
