EVENTS RULEBOOK
GENERAL RULES
1. For participation in group events only one person from the team
should fill the registration form.
2. While adding the name of the team members, kindly use bullet
points. For e.g.. (1) Anshika, (2) Naimish...]
3. You are requested not to register for the events which are
scheduled on the same time as simultaneous participation would
be chaotic. In case of such registration the prior registration would
be considered final.
TREASURE HUNT
RULES:
1. This event will observe a Participation of 15 teams maximum. The slots
will be allocated on first come first serve basis. In case of withdrawals
the teams which have registered will be considered for participation.
2. Withdrawal after registration will amount to barring the participation
from cultural events for next one year.
3. Every team shall comprise of 5 members each.
4. Use of electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited.
5. The decryption of the code has to be explained to the organizers. In case
of failure to do the same, the team will be disqualified.
6. Considering the difficultly level each team can avail 3 hints subject to
deduction of points.
7. There are 7 levels, collection of clues against each level is necessary to
win.
TREASURE HUNT
7. The clearing of levels include completion of tasks which will make a
team eligible to reach the next clue.
8. The clues are to be found in a particular order. A team cannot skip a
clue. Skipping a clue leads to disqualification of the team.
9. The entire team has to find the clues together. Splitting up to find
different clues is strictly prohibited.
10. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
11. The arena of the hunt is the entire SIU Nagpur campus.
12. The judgment will be done on the basis of the time taken by the teams
to hunt the treasure. In case of dispute, decision of the organisers will be
final.
13. Other details will be briefed before the commencement of contest.
FACE PAINTING
1. The theme for the event will be “HALLOWEEN”
2. It is a team event. There can be only 2 participants in a team.
3. Participants will be provided with colours, brushes and a bottle of
water. Additional materials to be brought by participant if he/she
requires.
4. Maximus time limit of the event is 60 minutes.
5. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation
and design.
6. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
T-SHIRT PAINTING
1. The theme will be : Dreams and Imaginations.
2. There will be two participants per team.
3. Use of references for painting is strictly prohibited.
4. Participants will be provided with colours, brushes and T-shirts.
5. The time limit for each participant to complete their painting would be
60 minutes.
6. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation and
design.
7. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
SHIPWRECK
1. Concept:
Imagine a majestic ship sailing the high seas, suddenly beset by a
disastrous storm. The hull breaches, water gushes in, and panic
ensues. Alas, there is only one life jacket aboard!
Each participant will be assigned a unique character on the spot. This
character would be based on pop-culture references to convince the judges.
The evaluation will be done on the basis of the ability to play the character
well.
2. The Characters:
Judges act as the ship's captains, responsible for deciding who gets the life
jacket based on persuasive arguments delivered by the participants.
Characters should be played to the fullest, incorporating their
personalities, quirks, and any relevant pop-culture references.
Participants are encouraged to research their assigned characters
beforehand to enhance their performance.
SHIPWRECK
3. The Argument:
Each participant will have two minutes to plead their case for
survival. Use this time to convince the captains why you, in the shoes of
your assigned character, deserve the life jacket more than anyone else.
Arguments should be well-structured, emotional, and
entertaining. Highlight your character's skills, contributions to society, or
even unfinished business on land.
Pop-culture references can be powerful tools, making your character
relatable and memorable. Think quotes, famous exploits, or iconic
appearances in film, books, or games.
SHIPWRECK
4. Penalties:
Costumes Going over the two-minute time limit will result in point
deductions.
Disrespectful behavior towards other participants or judges will be
penalized.
6. Additional Notes:
Costumes and props are encouraged but not mandatory. Creativity and
improvisation are highly valued.
The judges reserve the right to ask clarifying questions during the
arguments.
Remember, have fun and unleash your inner castaway!
KARAOKE
1. In the event participants will be expected to sing along to the
instrumental version of any Bollywood song .
2. The song to which they would sing along with would not be revealed to
the participants beforehand.
3. Participants who get the highest score will be qualifying for the further
rounds .
4. The finalist who gets the highest score in the final round will be the
winner for the event.
RING TOSS
1. Concept: This is a classic ring toss game with a twist, where players
score points by landing rings over pins with varying values. The player
with the highest score after multiple rounds wins.
2. Gameplay: Each player starts with 5 rings at the starting line and throws
all 5 rings in a turn. The Aim is to get the rings to land over the pins. Each
player adds their points together from each round. Each pin has a different
score written at the base of the pin.
3. The highest scorer will win and would move on to the next round.
Winners from each round will be made to compete in quarterfinal round
consisting of five players, from which one finalist from each team would
compete in the Final Round.
4. The Final Round would decide winner for the event.
SACK RACE:
1. Concept: A sack race, also known as a potato sack race, is a hilarious
and energetic competition where participants hop forward from a starting
point to a finish line while having both their legs inside a sack or
pillowcase that reaches their waist. The first person to cross the finish
line wins the race!
2. Instructions:
Participants will be given a sack in the beginning of the race. They will
put their legs inside the sack and hop forward from the starting point to
the finishing point.
3. First one to reach the race will qualify for the Final Round, who would
further compete with other finalists to become the winner of the race.
LEMON RACE:
1. Concept: This is a classic game in which players balance a lemon on a
spoon and race to the finish line without dropping it. The first player to
cross the finish line without dropping the lemon wins the game.
2. Instructions:
Participants have to take part in a pair of two.
Participants must place the lemon on the backside of their spoon (the
concave side) and hold the spoon's handle with their mouth.
Player A will start running from the starting line during which they will
balance the spoon with the lemon and than on the 2nd marker transfer the
lemon to the other player’s spoon without using hands and the 2nd player
has to reach the finish line.
If the lemon falls, they place it again and start the game from the beginning.
The pair reaching the finish line first is declared the winner.
TALENT SHOW
GROUP SINGING
1. MODE OF CONDUCTION: Auditorium
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 6 +2
TIME LIMIT : (5+1 min) and 1 min set up time
2. RULES AND REGULATIONS: Participants may bring any instrument of
choice as an accompaniment. A participant may have one additional person
to play accompanying instruments. No extra points will be given for the
same. Use of background music is allowed.
3. Participants will be given an extra minute to set up. Exceeding the time
limit mentioned for each round will lead to point deduction.Mobile phones
are not allowed for the purpose of referring the lyrics.
The decisions made by the judges in this regard will be final.
TALENT SHOW
GROUP DANCE
1. Students have to participate in groups. Choice of song is open to the
participants. Any obscene or offensive music/song is not allowed. There is
no particular theme.
2. Time limit is maximum 5 minutes for group dance. Minimum
participants should be more than 4. No team or participant will be allowed
to perform twice in the same round.
3. On stage, it is completely forbidden to light cigarettes, candles,
matchsticks, or do any other offensive acts.
4. To avoid technical issues, the participants are asked send the audio as a
file to the event co-ordinator. They are also asked to give one pen drive to
the event coordinator out of those.
5. All participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner displaying
good sportsmanship throughout the event.
