BUT
Only one official entry (for any of the event) form any Institute/
Department/ University/ College – that too student of media
discipline is allowed.
• The participant will be given 8 to 10 words (English and its Hindi meaning) on the spot and will be
given a prescribed plain sheet in which he/ she will write the story.
• He/ she will highlight the given words so that the evaluators may see/ read it carefully.
U2. CATCH THE GLIMPSE- (Around the Campus),
Computer Lab , First Floor Submission by 130 PM)
• The photos should be submitted (only soft copy) positively on or before 130 pm. to event Coordinator
at Computer lab (basement) with proper identity/ file name.
• Participants will bring their digital camera so that photographs can be transferred to computer for
evaluation. The required accessories with the cameras should also be carried by the students.
Media Mania- Individual/ group in the backdrop of University (the photo must establish
the location of the campus and of 25 Oct 2025 and media fest mood in CSMC ( Chitkara School of
Mass Communication)
• A draw containing sequence number/ topic/ sub topic/Phone-in etc. will be done and the participants will
go ON-AIR in Radio Chitkara 107.8 FM.
• All such participants are advised to AIR their content/ language/ style in such a manner which is decent
and according to code and ethics of any responsible Radio Station/ Community Radio Station
• The hand-written script will be submitted just after the participants finish his/her turn.
• All the technical help/ operating console, fader will be provided by us.
U4. NEWS FLASH- ( TV Studio First Floor)
TIMINGS: 12.30p.m. - 2:30 pm
TV News Reading
• One entry from each media college is allowed. It is a competition in which the news reading/
presentation skill will be judged on various parameter.
• The participants will be judged on the basis of confidence, fluency, pronunciation, voice quality, etc.
• The participants will be given 3 minutes to read news in TV studio. They may choose any medium and
the printed script will be provided first and then will go for reading the same on camera with the help of
Teleprompter.
U5. TAZA KHABAR- (TV Studio First Floor)
TIMINGS: 10:30 am-12.30p.m.
TV News Reporting
RULES & REGULATIONS:
• Only one team from each media college/university/Institute consisting of 3 members-1. reporter, 2.
script writer 3. cameraman can participate
• 5 minutes for scripting and 3 minutes for reporting will be given to the participants
• The participants will be judged on the basis of content, fluency, spontaneity, confidence, etc.
U6. ADITIVITY- ( LH 3 Basement)
• A team of total 3 members i.e. 1. Copywriter 2. Visualizer/director, 3. Cameramen, video editor will
represent who have produced /made the advertisement in 2023-24 and it should be certified at the
institute/university/department s end/by the head.
• One entry from each media college will be entertained. They will deposit the soft copy (CD/ DVD/
Pen Drive) of the advertisement at the Registration Desk where the students incharge will be
sitting . They are advised to bring the advertisement in various format so that their soft copy may
be deposited and played for screening.
• Format of the ad should be any DVD/CD or in Pen drive and must be submitted to the organisers /
coordinators of the event. The ad can be in English or Hindi or with voice /music or without it.
U7. DOCUMENTARY- (PULITZER HALL/ Ground Floor)
• Only One documentary from an Institute/ university/ media school of length above 5 min.
and less than 10min. Will be accepted.
• A team of 3 members comprising of script writer, camera, editing, directors, etc. must be tilted at the
beginning/end of the documentary.
• Documentary must be submitted in the any format of DVD/CD or in Pen drive and must be submitted
prior to starting of screening to the organizers/coordinators of the event.
• He/ She will have to work on Quark/ In Design on the date of competition
• Duration 2 hours
• The task of competition will be given on the spot and competitor will have to design accordingly.
• Participants will have to edit visuals and audio as per instructions to be given on the
U 10. TICKLE YOUR BRAIN (Quiz)
TIMINGS: Prelims and Final Round ( LH4 Basement ): 1030 AM to 1100 AM ( Prelims) and
FINAL ROUND (11:30 p.m.-1 p.m).
• After qualifying round, written/audio/video/ audio & video, verbal questions, etc. will be conducted in
final round.
• The question may comprise GK & current affairs apart from different disciplines of media.
U11. TOONCATURE-
TIMINGS: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ( LH 2 Basement )
• The topics for cartoon and Caricature will be restricted to politics, sports and entertainment.
2. The participant is supposed to bring his/ her own mobile phones, selfie sticks and USB cables to transfer
the same in our computer/ laptop.
3. The theme of this event/ competition/ Self’ I’ is- UDAAN 2024 & I
4. It must be clicked inside the campus/ University and that too on that day i.e. 25 October 2024
5. The participant must establish the theme in his/ her Selfie in any creative way.

3. White vertical surface of 3 feet long and 4 feet wide will be provided by us.
4. The student is supposed to bring his/ her own material i.e. clippings. cuttings, pasting material,
stationary, sketch pens, scissors, tapes, gum, board pins etc
Rules-
1. Submission time and venue – Video Editing Lab First Floor A Team of 2
members will participate in which one will act as reporter and the second will shoot the story on
MOBILE ONLY.
4. Both the members will work together to edit their story and may use voice over to connect the whole
story in a good package.
5. Both the participants must come with their editing tools/laptop/required software/ voice over
recording device/mobile phone, relevant cables and the organisers will not provide any
technical support for this.
III. One faculty incharge who has come with his/her students from different University /College/
Institution. (He/ She should not be from the same University to which the participant is
representing)
IV. One student who has come for participation in Udaan 2024 from different University /College/
Institution. (He/ She should not be from the same University to which the participant is
representing)
7. It must have 15-20 seconds opening and 15-20 seconds closing in which the reporter is visible
and facing the camera/mobile phone.
