Transfer Goals:
The students in the long run and on their own will be able to foster understanding, empathy, and unity among all
individuals, promoting a sense of interconnectedness and harmony within human interactions and proclaiming
God’s message in the wider community.

Essential Understanding:
The effectiveness of communication is influenced by the context in which a speech occurs, the style
adopted by the speaker, and the specific acts performed through speech. By recognizing how these
elements interact, speakers can tailor their messages to be more impactful and appropriate for their
audiences.

Essential Questions:
● How does the context of a speech shape the message and its reception?
● In what ways can different speech styles enhance or hinder effective communication?

I. Preliminaries
Review:
What have you learned from the previous topic?

Focus: Types of Speech Context and Speech Style

Vocabulary (unlocking of difficulties)

Motivation:
VISUAL ANALYSIS
Students will evaluate and interpret the given photo on screen.

Have you ever had the experience of speaking with someone who communicates in a foreign
language? How did the interaction happen?

II.Lesson Development
A. Presentation of Concepts

● Students will understand the Understand the importance of intercultural communication.


● Students will be able to develop strategies for improving intercultural communication skills.

Activities:
a. Interactive Discussion – The teacher will throw questions to the students during the discussion to
explain the topic.
b. Tableau – The students will be divided into 5 groups; each group given a different communication
scenario that highlights cultural differences between individuals. They will present in front of the
class, demonstrating their assigned function through a creative tableau.

B. Broadening of Concept

 In what ways do various forms of intercultural communication influence the way we send and
understand messages?
 How do these different cultural contexts and communication styles affect our interpretation and
delivery of information?
 How did grasping the intent of the communication contribute to that successful outcome?
 What strategies can be employed to resolve conflicts or challenging situations that may arise
during public speaking engagements?

How does having a thorough understanding and preparation in intercultural communication contribute
to achieving clear and effective interactions, and how does it help in avoiding miscommunications or
communication breakdown?

Communication is essential for learning and personal growth. It enables us to stay informed and
gain knowledge about new developments and experiences in our surroundings. Through
effective communication, we are able to exchange ideas, ask questions, and receive feedback,
all of which contribute to our understanding of the world and ourselves. This ongoing process of
sharing and receiving information helps us adapt to changes, broaden our perspectives, and
continuously improve our skills and knowledge.
