PHSY1139 Assignment Requirements

Follow the instructions of your instructor concerning presentation of assignments.


In general, the following must be completed for all assignments (see rubric in
Brightspace dropbox for marks associated assignment requirements):
• Assignments are to be submitted electronically in the Dropbox on Brightspace:
o All assignments must be submitted with a title page including:
• Course name and code
• Instructor name
• Assignment # and chapters covered
• Program name
• Student name and email
• Date submitted
o All assignments are to be done on civil paper.
o Fill in the title block completely and accurately for every page. See example title
block for guidance to full marks.
o You will be required to place one question per page.
o Where applicable, a neat, labeled diagram or sketch is required (using straight-
edge).
o Include ALL work used to solve problems including any charts, graphs and tables.
o You will be marked on completion of your assigned questions and, just as
importantly, the neatness of your work/diagrams.
o All problems must include the correct question #.
o Questions must be written at the beginning of each problem.
o All final answers must be underlined with a straight edge
o IMPORTANT: Check all your answers before you pass in your work.
o Methodology for problem solving must be accurate and support final answers.
o Scan completed assignments into one single PDF document.
o If you are a smart phone user, you may wish to use an app such as CamScanner,
Microsoft Lens or Notes (on an iPhone) to scan your assignment, or simply use a desktop
scanner being sure to convert the file to a PDF.
o Scan quality will be marked. This included orientation, clarity and absence of
background information. Photos will not be accepted.
o Pages must be in order, document must be follow the order stipulated in the assignment
instructions.
o The Deadline for the assignment refers to the date and time the assignment must be
uploaded to Brightspace. Assignments uploaded past this deadline will be considered
late and penalties will be apply.
o Upload your PDF file to the appropriate Dropbox on Brightspace, even if the deadline has
passed (so that you can remain eligible for supplementary examinations).
o Emailed submissions will not be accepted and will be immediately deleted by the
instructor.
• Assignments will be given a preliminary marked based on the above criteria. A completion factor
will then be applied to the preliminary mark based on % completed.
