This guide provides instructions for setting up the ControlXTPB card.

DIP Switch Settings on ControlXTPB Card
The ControlXTPB card has four DIP switches (Figure 1) which allow the selection of
the following:
• 1: Specifies system/pin card type (muxed or unmuxed).
• 2: Allows user to assign a custom IP address for the ControlXTPB card.
• 3 and 4: Assigns a predefined IP address to the card.

Whenever the DIP switch settings are changed, the system

must be rebooted for the changes to take effect.

Setting DIP switch 2 ON allows the assignment of a custom IP address to the
ControlXTPB card.

Predefined IP Address
The DIP switch positions in Table 3 assign a predefined IP address to the
ControlXTPB card, depending on the module in which the card is installed.
Set DIP switch 1 according to the system type (muxed or
unmuxed).

Update Testhead LAN Settings

1 On the testhead controller, configure the Testhead LAN firewall to allow
access:
a Select Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall.
b Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. If prompted, enter an administrator
password or confirmation.
c Select Turn off Windows Firewall for the network location and click OK.
2 Set the recommended Speed & Duplex on the Testhead LAN to prevent lost
heartbeat failure:
a Right-click on the Testhead LAN icon in the Taskbar and select Status.
b In the Testhead LAN Status dialog box, click Properties.
c In the Testhead LAN Properties dialog box, click Configure.
d In the network adapter’s Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
e Set Speed & Duplex to Auto Negotiation.

 Assign Predefined IP Address to ControlXTPB Card
If you wish to assign predefined IP addresses to the ControlXTPB cards, follow these
steps.
1 Set the DIP switches on the ControlXTPB card to assign a predefined IP
address based on where it is installed. Refer to Table 3 for the DIP switch
positions.
2 Boot the testhead.
3 Launch DGN and select Configuration > Control Card IP Address Config.
Check that the correct IP addresses have been assigned.

 Assign Custom IP Address to ControlXTPB Card
If you wish to specify the IP addresses for the ControlXTPB cards, follow these steps.
1 Launch DGN and select Configuration > Control Card IP Address Config.
2 Enter a static IP address for the ControlXTPB card in the Set fields.
Use the following values for the subnet mask and gateway respectively:
255.255.255.0
10.3.112.1

3 Click Update All and check that the status shows Configuration Saved.

4 Return to the Level 1 menu. Select Testhead Functs, then Testhead PowerOff
to power off the testhead.
5 Also set the IP address for the ControlXTPB card in the hosts file, located in
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. An example is shown in Figure 2.

6 On the ControlXTPB card, set DIP switch 2 to the ON position.

7 Power on the i3070 system and boot the testhead.
8 Launch DGN and select Configuration > Control Card IP Address Config.
Check that the correct IP addresses have been assigned.

Firmware Update
Follow the procedure below if a firmware update has been provided for the
ControlXTPB card.
1 Copy the firmware update files to C:\I3070_ICT\lib.
• xtpB.xsvf
• XTPB_SoC_HPS_Mux.img or
XTPB_SoC_HPS_UnMux.img (depending on system type)
• XTPB_SoC_FPGA.img
2 Launch DGN.
3 Select Configuration > Programmable Card Config.
Any available firmware updates will be highlighted as shown below:

4 Select Update All to begin the update.

5 Whenever the User Account Control dialog box appears, select Yes to allow
the system to proceed.
When installation is completed, the testhead is automatically rebooted.
